AAA Parking Pass Question

Do you have to buy a package through AAA to get this?

We have the European partner of AAA, but I just think that will be too hard to try and explain and get the pass (or, any Brits out there, can you use AA to get the AAA pass? We have ADAC in Germany, which is reciprocal with both AA and AAA)

or can my Mom, who is a AAA member, just go get one at her local office? She is joining us down in Orlando.

Please, no flames about using someone else's benefits and all that...I just want to know if you have to book at package or get one as a AAA member.

You have to book a package through AAA to get the parking pass and the discount card.

After reading many posts on this subject, it appears to be dependent on which branch of AAA you belong to. I belong to Chicago AAA and you must book a package to get the parking. However, some past posters have just stopped in their local office and requested a pass.

Since your mom is AAA and joining you, why not ask her to book through AAA? And get a pass while she's at it?

You can transfer the reservation to AAA. I've done this in order to get the pass.

I don't believe that ADAC has the passes. Remember, it is a reciprocal agreement but that doesn't mean that they have access to everything. (Just as I can't go into a CAA or AAA office and obtain what I normally do at ADAC)

I can also verify that many CAA locations in Canada (and some AAA locations in the US) do not have the parking passes.

I don't see much value in a AAA pass, but I have yet been able to obtain one through ADAC, CAA or AAA. In fact, I have also been told that some offices stopped handing them out due to fraud (passes are non-transferrable)

I don't know if you'll be able to get one or not, but I do have to say that the pass isn't all that necessary. We had one last trip and were able to park up close twice while we had our rental van, but honestly, you can end up walking less if your car is parked close to a tram pick up/drop off point.
