Has anyone every bought the AAA package with unlimited fastpass? It is more expensive then the room only with tickets purchased seperatly. I am wondering if the unlimited fast pass is as good as it sounds? Can you really go from ride to ride collecting fastpasses? Is there a limit? How does the machine know you can get unlimited fast passes?

I have done this before and loved it. I would leave my hubby and kids in one place and go and get fastpasses for everything...BUT they have it setup now where you have to not only buy the package through AAA but you have to stay at a DL Hotel. If you where already going to stay onsite then its not that bad. When I did this a couple years ago they had it set up that any package or tickets through AAA would qualify.
You really can get as many fastpasses as you want but only one at a time of a ride so I couldldnt have 10 Buzz fastpasses, but one after the other is ok. Just break the package down and see what they are charging, maybe you are willing to spead a little for this feature when its busy. Good Luck.

I think whether you can get better rates purchasing separately and whether the AAA fastpass is worth it depends upon when you are going. I got AAA quotes for August packages to all 3 Disney Hotels, a time when I didn't think I was likely to get much of a break on any of the hotels. I also priced the same through the Disney website. The AAA quotes met or beat the rate priced through the web site. The AAA package was significantly better for the Grand California theme park view, which is what I had pretty much decided on. I didn't try calling the hotels directly and comparing their AAA rate (10% off?) room only + tickets separately with what AAA quoted for the package. I might have been able to beak the rate for the Paradise Pier this way, but I didn't think I was going to beat AAA's GC rate. I also felt that going at such a busy time makes that Multi-Fastpass option really, really nice. If you are going during an off-period, the Multi-Fastpass isn't as special, and you are more likely to find some discounted rates for the Disney hotels.

I had the AAA Fastpass once before just before Christmas 2003. Loved, loved, loved it! I was able to go on Haunted Mansion Holiday several times per day without sacrificing FPs on other rides. I plan on doing the same thing with Buzz on my next trip. There is some coding on the ticket that the bar scanners read that says you are one AAA lucky guest.

By the way, with AAA, you also get free parking (doesn't really help if you are staying on-site unless, perhaps you drive and add a day or two offsite). You also get the pin & lanyard, preferred seating, Mickey's Toontown morning madness, Early Entry, ESPN $10 card; those you probably get if you buy the bonus passes separately. I also used my Disney Visa for my deposit, so I get a sport tote, and additional preferred seatings...

CalGal,

How did you get the Disney Visa benefits too? I booked the AAA package and used my Disney Visa but was not offered the tote or otheer preferred seating. Should I call AAA back.

Thanks,

Pete

When I gave my Visa card to my AAA rep for the deposit, he commented on it being a Disney Visa; he hadn't seem one before. I suggested that he mention it when he make the reservation. I know he talked to the Disney rep on the phone about it when he was confirming the reservation, although I actually thought they recognized that it was the Disney Visa by the number. I was told at that time that paying with the Visa was going to get me these extras, and the confirmation I received listed these extras. You also should have the option for no interest if you pay within 6 months for your Disney travel (or something like that). One added little surprise, I received a Disney Visa pin in the mail a couple of weeks after booking the trip.

It sure wouldn't hurt to call back AAA and ask about this. When are you going? Have you gotten your passes, etc. yet? It should be easy to add these perks in if you haven't made your final payment (due 30 days before your trip). Otherwise, perhaps Disney will catch it and give you a nice surprise.
