Just got my AAA World magazine and saw an ad for the AAA benefits while at Disney World and they still have the Story Time experience at Epcot but have added a preferred fireworks viewing at Magic Kingdom (this replaced the parade viewing they had last year). Make sure you book early don't wait for your package to arrive as they will be all booked. the number to call is 407-939-7946 and be sure to have your vacation confirmation # ready.

Is this for AAA members, or only for people who book through AAA travel?

I just got off the phone with the AAA story time line and they informed us that this offer is only available to people who book their trip through AAA.

:goodvibes

That's what I figured. Thx.

The AAA packages usually rqeuire that you book a room package at a Disney Resort with dining (at least for the story experience, not as sure about the dining part for the fireworks viewing). It's definitely not just something available to AAA members in general.

You need to book your Disney package through AAA. In addition to making a reservation, you also have to present a voucher when you arrive at the viewing spot, which comes in your documents with the other vouchers. You can reserve a viewing spot once per trip as one voucher comes in your packet (one voucher is good for your whole party).

I am booked thru Disney right now with free dining and all my ADR's done. I wonder if I cancel thru Disney and book thru AAA if (1) I will get to keep my ADR's and (2) if I still get free dining ...anyone know???

Thanks for this. I haven't had a chance to look through my mag yet.

I wonder if the preferred seating is also during special events; ie. Hallowishes.

Your ADR's really don't have anything to do with your reservation so if you cancelled and rebooked with AAA, you would still have them.

As far as the free dining discount, you would have to call AAA to see if there is still availability (and still be an active promo) for you to book it with them. Sometimes, they are able to take over a Disney reservation as well.

I would call your local AAA travel agent and see.

Good luck!

You don't have to cancel. You can get a hold of AAA and tell them you would like to transfer your existing Disney reservation to them, and they will fill out a form, fax it to Disney and Disney will release the reservation to your AAA agent. It takes a few days for the process to go through. Your AAA agent would then have full control over your reservation which means you'd have to go through him or her for any changes you may need to make. You would, however, get the AAA benefits. Your reservation would stay exactly the same because nothing is being re-booked. It does not affect ADRs as they are not linked like this - even people without reservations can make ADRs.

It's not. Just regular Wishes. They used to have preferred viewing for the 3pm parade, but that's no longer offered. The preferred viewing for Wishes is standing room only, in a roped off area near the Plaza.

Where is the preferred fireworks viewing spot for aaa folks (and yes I have the info, I just don't know where it is)?

Okay, I've looked twice and made my husband look once and I'm not finding this. What page, OP?

I had my TA take over the reservation, I think the only limit is if you are paid in full they can't, but if you have just put down a deposit, they can.

I just booked through AAA for the first time. When do we get our package with all of this information? Is it not until the trip is paid in full?

Just wondering at what point I can book this.

I haven't received the package, but my TA told me the number to call (but only after I asked about it). I think there's a post with that number as I don't have it handy, and you 'll just need your reservation number.

The reservation person at Disney told me that I would get vouchers in my packet that I would need to hand in at the viewing/story time stuff, so I didn't need them to make the reservations.

In front of the Plaza near the ice cream stand, standing room only.

Did you book your package through AAA? If so, you should have it and mine was on the last page of my vouchers.

You can book at any time. You don't need the voucher to book, as PP said. You just need the voucher when you go to the fireworks on the night of your reservation in order to get into the preferred viewing spot. You get the voucher with your documents, which comes after your trip is paid in full, about 2-3 weeks before you travel.

you can transfer a reservation you made yourself to a travel agent as long as you are not w/in your 45 day period... just call AAA travel agent and ask for a reservation transfer form and that should do it... no need to worry about a new conf #, availability, etc... it's a simple process and the AAA TA should be happy to have such an "easy" client :)
