AAA MYW Package Discount?

I read in another thread the AAA package discount (MYW plus dining-not free but the one you pay for) is basically the same as the AAA room discount. Is this true? For value season at AKL it looks like about 15%. If there are no codes/dining offers etc and I have to pay rack, this seems like a good deal. I'd have to join AAA which would cost be $60, but if the package discount is 15% this would save me about $500 on a 7 night stay with hoppers and dining. I guess my real question is the discount on a MYW package through AAA really about 15%? Also do the room rates on the AAA website already include tax? Do the packages on the disney site include tax?

We are currently at SoG, but I can't stop thinking about a way to get to AKL and on that dining package--which would save us $$$.

I might have written one of the posts to which you refer.

Here's my impression of how the discount works:

I made my original reservations with WDTC. My package price was $3500. That was for two rooms at ASMo (6 nights), 7 day Park Hopper with Water Park, and dining plan (3 adults/2 kids).

When I called AAA, I got the same package for $3300. The rack rate for the room is $99 per night, so my lodging would cost me $1188. Everything I have read says that the AAA discount during our stay (June 2005) should be 15% (regular season). $1188 - $178.20 (15%)= $1009.80. In all, I saved $200. There may be a slight discount on the tickets or dining to make up the additional $22.

Anyone else care to share their experience?
