How do the AAA soft drink mugs work? A friend gave us a mug from a previous Disney cruise that they never used. Will I have any trouble using it? How does DCL confirm that it's never been used?

I think that they also give you a sticker to put on your room key to confirm that you've purchased (or are otherwise entitled to) the soda program for that cruise. I don't know this for sure, though, for some reason I don't end up drinking much soda while on board, so I've never actually had a sticker or a mug.

My last cruise they did not care about the mug, just the sticker on oyur room ID.

If oyu don't have that, it may not work.

And one of these days I may figure out how to type Y-O-U

We booked with AAA, and we were given a coupon (it was in our travel documents) for four mugs. My husband took the coupon to the Promenade Lounge, and he was given the four mugs and four stickers for our room cards.

We figured out pretty quickly that we didn't need the mugs -- just the stickers.

Even though the mugs were never used, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use a friend's mug from a previous cruise.

Will anyone notice, probably not. But they are not really a transferable thing. Your friends probably used the soda program stickers, and never opened the mugs. That's what my family did. So just cuz the mugs are not used, does not mean the "program" was not used.

We were on the 4 day wonder cruise in April thru AAA. When we went to cash in our coupon for the free mugs, were were given the mugs, and the stickers for each of our room cards, and were told not to bother dragging the mugs around, as the only thing they look at is the sticker on the card.
