Hi. I live in the metro Mpls area and I am planning a Disneyworld trip in Jan 2009. Does anyone have a AAA MN travel agent who does a good job on Disney trips? So far I am unimpressed with the folks I have talked to. Thanks either way.

Hey... I am in MN too. I would love to tell you how we go CHEAP!

first off I don't use a travel agent... I do it all on my own. It is really quite easy... and SUPER FUN!!

We fly SunCounty. I either book direct with SC or Hobbit Travel snooze you loose fares. We are going mid April and I went direct with SC 49.00 one way fares... so for 112.00 I got my airfare. In Jan. I used hobbit and got it for 117.00.

We use DME. So when we get to HHH airport they take our suitcases and we don't see them again until they are in our room. This also saves us the big cost of the rental car. My biggest bonus is no fights over directions on vacation! this is booked via 407-wdisney

We book our room and park tickets via 407-wdisney. we stay at POP in Jan it was 54.00 a night and April it is be 62.00 a night. We also buy our ticket though here because when you check in you get a key to the kingdom (KTTK) that key is your room key, a charge card and your park ticket. If you loose your KTTK they can replace it. If you have a paper ticket it can only be replaced if you have a photo copy of it.

You will also have to look at and book your dinning reservations but this is not hard either.

I would be more then happy to answer your questions or help you with your magical trip . :wizard:

How do you find such cheap air fare? I've been on Sun Country's website and NWA's website. I'm going in Dec and actually found the cheapest airfare for Sun Country on Disney's website. It's $968 for 4 of us.

For December you are too far away for good airfare. Hobbit is 210.00 right now.

Here are my tips... on Hobbit's website go to the point right before it asks for your CC if there is a "Z" that is the lowest that flight will go.

We booked our Jan 1-10 trip on Thanksgiving weekend and our april trip was booked 6 weeks in advance.

Depending on how close you are going to Christmas it might be more expensive.

Also if you travel on Tuesday's it is usually cheaper

Hobbit is cheaper if you leave MSP Sun - Tuesday and return Wed - Friday

Oh and register on both Hobbit and Sun Country's website to get deals emailed right to you.

Hope this helps:hug:

I am also in MN and looking for late September flights.

Disneylush - Do you have any expericne with the cost of flights during September? Do you think I could be so lucky to get the awesome deals you found??? One can wish...

Go to SunCountry.com put in MSP and MCO on the bottom of the page when the next page (calendars) pop up right above the calendars you can click to see the flights schedule ... click that and see when the even have flights during your month.

The other thing I do is watch how full the plane is on expedia.com

Once I know when SC has flights going and when I would like to travel I plug it into expedia to see how full the plane is so I know when I have to either buy or switch flights.

I know this sounds like a lot and very time consuming but it is very quick and worth the money you save. In Jan. my parents saved enough on their flight to buy the DDP! (their version of free dining:rotfl: )

Thank you for your reply. I am already set for airline tickets. I need to find someone at AAA that can help me with the Disney resort and MYW tickets. Does anyone have a AAA travel agent that has been helpful with a Disneyworld trip?

I still don't see why you need an agent you can still get the discount by calling 407wdisney and saying you have AAA they give you the same discount without the AAA agent fee... still cheaper

the MYW's are not discounted with AAA only the room is ... 10%. Are you sure this is the best deal you can get for when you are going?

Oh and remember no matter who you book with right now you are going to get todays price quoted to you ... so 1??.00 because it is busy season BUT in Nov. the Jan codes will come out and you (or you agent) will have to call in the code to get a cheaper room... well under 100.00 because Jan is a value season.

I want to book a package with AAA because I want to get the DDP. I have been told (by Small World Vacations) that only AAA can book a AAA package with DDP.

yes, you are correct.

However, make sure that is the best deal out there when your dates get closer. Last year Disney had a great code deal and I know people were mad because they had made AAA reservations and then were not able to change to the lower cost code.

Have fun! :wizard:

If you can't find a rep in Minnesota, you can book with any AAA agent, anywhere. And yes, the only way to get the AAA discount on a full package w/ dining is to book direct w/ AAA.

I live in the southeast, and I have used two different AAA agents on three occasions and it has all been perfect. I would go to the AAA website and put in a zip code for an area in the southeast, maybe even central FL and see what happens. Good Luck:thumbsup2

According to everything I've read, your AAA agent should be able to apply any codes that are released after you book. Your agent has to make the change, though.
Also, you can't have the AAA discount and another discount at the same time. You'd have to choose whichever option is cheaper. I've even read that others have had their AAA package changed by their AAA agent to apply free dining, but this changes the the resort part of their package back to rack rate. Someone else may be able to confirm this for you.
