AAA lodging rate, can i add the meal plan?

I have a AAA discounted lodging rate for a room only rate. I think that I might want to add the meal plan, will this make it a package plan by default? Will I loose my AAA discount?

You can only add the meal plan to a package, not a room-only reservation. If you would like to book a AAA package (hotel + tickets), you would have to do it thru a AAA travel agent. You cannot book it yourself thru CRO.

How is that different from the AAA resort only rate that I currently have; I made it by myself by calling CRO? Why wouldn't it be the same?

The AAA rate for the room will be the same, and there is no AAA discount on tix & dining, but you can pnly book that package through AAA. You cannot add dining to a discounted AAA room only reservation. It might not be logical, but that's the way it is. I guess AAA and Disney negotiated this deal. Works out well for the AAA agents!
