AAA just for Disney?

We joined AAA plus, which cost us 89.00 for two drivers and saved 200.00 on our Disney trip staying at the pop, plus 20.00 on the off grounds hotel we are staying at the night we arrive. So, I would say it is worth joining.

Can anyone tell me what exactly do you get from AAA once you book your trip? I received a conformation letter for our accomadations. I emailed her asking if she had a brochure listing all the perks. She said she was out of them but would mail me one when she gets them. So today I get it but it really tells me nothing in detail. It did mention there's is a 40 page how to book which you get when you book your trip and they receive you $200 deposit which I sent. Anyway I'm trying to find out who do I call to reserve the storytime with a character. Do I need a voucher, how far in advance do I need to book, which days is it offered? I feel my ta really isn't much help. I feel like I might miss on somethings that I should be getting with AAA but how am I suppose to know what, if she doesn't tell me. kwim?

It's time to take a deep breath. I know you want every detail planned out but you still have 6 months to go before your trip. I'm not going to suggest that you leave everything in your TA's hands but you can spend the next couple of months learning about the AAA Disney experience on the boards so that you will be well prepared and will not miss out on anything. That will still leave you plenty of time to deal with any shortcomings that you feel your TA has.

Yes I do have 6 months before our trip. Thank God I have the DIS boards to keep me informed of things especially what AAA has to offer. I just don't like when I'm left in the dark about things that my ta should be telling me from the beginning. Thanks for the advice.

AAA has a show your card and save program. I more than make back the cost every year.

I love the Plus in case you ever need to get your car towed. You can have the basic and get the discounts.

We joined AAA for the roadside assistance ourselves. We have not had to use the towing yet, murphy's law says now that we have it we will never need to be towed.. We have 2 cars with 75,000 + miles on them and are not wanting to take on a car payment for as long as we can avoid it! So far this year I have saved more than the AAA fees on oil changes and brake service.

The savings on Disney and other travel stuff is just gravy to me. Also they have discounts at many online retailers.

We didn't receive our package until about 3 weeks prior to our departure date and you had to have your package paid off if I remember correctly. It contained our luggage tags, our magic express baggage tags (2 per person) and some vouchers for the few extras which I can't remember, because we didn't use. I think one was for parking and a storyhour thing.
I was frustrated too when I didn't get a detail listing of what the benefits were. I went and purchased one of the tour books to read and read these boards - it helps. have fun on your trip

For those of you that haven't discovered AAA as of yet..... GO JOIN.

The membership pays for itself with all the discount programs provided to AAA Members, plus you get the benefit of Emergency Road Service when you break down. You need to remember, the main benefit of AAA is the emergency road service. The other benefits are just icing on the cake.

You shouldn't be asking if AAA is worth joining for the Discounts (it is), you should be saying I need AAA for the piece of mind knowing that you'll have Emergency Road service in the event of a automobile malfunction.
