Hi i booked my trip to the world all star movies standard room peak season, 7 day park hopper and the dining plan. Grand total of close to 1900. Can i use a aaa discount for a package??? I booked through my local travel agent. Anyone know what kind of discount???????? ;)

you need to call AAA directly to book a package but yes you will receive a discount. I ended up doing room-only and i will get my tickets later, but did check the package prices too. There was a discount of about $150-$200 for a Moderate during Regular season.

From what I have heard, AAA packages give you the AAA rate on the room and then you pay rack rates on the tickets. My my trip the room-only discount was 15%. The discount on the value resorts was less though. When I inquired about that they told me the room only rate for 7 nights would be $700 where as Disney quoted me $770. Still money is money. Better in my pocket then disneys.

I would call them and see what rate you can get. I am sure it will be better than Disney's.

Not on a package. She can get you a room-only AAA discount, but if you want dining AND the AAA discount on your room, then you MUST book directly thru AAA.

Now I'm confused...I was told by AAA & Disney that the AAA discount would only apply to the room...ARE there discounted AAA packages out there?

aaa discount does only apply to the room. However if you book your 'package' through aaa (no one else) you can get that room discount even though you are getting a package. The only thing discounted is the room portion of your package.

When you book with Disney, they can only offer a discount on the ROOM ONLY portion.
When you book with AAA, they can offer the discount on the room AS WELL as the package, which also gives you all your AAA benefits, like the Diamond Card, Planet Hollywood Vouchers, room discount, parking pass, and character storytelling.
Call your local AAA office and ask for a Disney Specialist. If they are good, they should mention everything listed above as a benefit for booking with AAA. Also if you book in January, you get a free gift from Disney (it's Disney Month with AAA).
Hope this helps!

What are the deposit/payment guidelines if you book a Disney trip through AAA? Will the AAA reps be able to help you with specific room requests, dining reservations, or special show reservations like Fantasmic?

The deposit/payment guidelines are the same whether booking thru Disney, a TA, or AAA. On a package, you pay a $200 deposit with the balance due 45 days before your check-in. Some AAA TA's will help you with booking dining ressies, some won't. You'll have to ask yours. They can add a room request to your ressie, but they aren't guaranteed...Disney will do their best to accomodate you if your requests are resonable.

Ok, I will try to explain better.

If you want a room-only ressie with a AAA discount, you can call Disney on your own (or thru any TA) and have your AAA membership applied for a discount. Or you can go thru AAA.

If you want a package:
1.) Book directly thru Disney (yourself or thru a non-AAA TA) & you will pay rack rate for everything, unless you have some kind of pin/email/general public code. The ONLY way to receive your AAA discount on the room portion of A PACKAGE is to...(see below)...

2.) Book thru AAA, and you will get your AAA discount on the room portion. The rest of your package (dining, tickets) will be at rack rate. Again, unless you have some kind of code.

I hope that made more sense. :upsidedow
