Our local AAA has 5 day hoppers at 2005 prices. Can I update these tickets at the gate to 6 day tickets? If so, how will they calculate the cost of the upgrade? Do the tickets have prices printed on them? Just curious because I think I could save some money this way.

Yes you can update (upgrade) the tickets. Guest Relations windows are both inside and outside the theme parks, near the turnstiles (at City Hall on the other side of the train station for Magic Kingdom inside)

Calculations remain an open question at this time. Hopefully somoene will report back soon.

A sixth day added to a 2006 Magic Your Way 5 day pass costs $2 ($14. if non-expiring). (For tickets first used no more than 13 days ago, or unused)

The difference between a 2005 MYW 5 day pass and a 2006 MYW 5 day pass, including hopping, is $9.

Whether you are charged the $9 differential also for a total of $11. expiring is not known.

There are actually three questions that are open.

The one seashoreCM raised is the most likely, IMHO, to be answered in the negative, i.e., that when you add days to a pass, you'll not be charged difference between the cost of your pass as if you just bought it and the current cost of a pass with the number of days you want, but rather the difference between the original cost of your pass and the current cost of a pass with the number of days you want.

The other two involve park hopping and the non-expire option, with respect to whether either, or both, is considered an upgrade, and therefore wouldn't result in your basically losing the benefit from having purchased passes at 2005 prices. The guesses regarding that seem to be trending "positive" that for both of these things, you'll be charged based on current prices, rather than the price you actually paid.

So will I be charged the difference between a 2006 5 day base ticket and a 2006 6 day base ticket or a 2005 5 day base ticket and a 2006 6 day base ticket? If it is the second way there is no advantage to purchasing a 2005 ticket.

There would be no advantage to buying a 2005 MYW 5-day ticket if what you want is a 6-day ticket. However, if you happen to find yourself with a 5-day pass purchased in 2005 but are visiting WDW in 2006 AND you would like an extra day, upgrading to a 6-day pass would be cheaper than buying 1-day ticket for $67.10 (non-hopping).

What bicker and others have stated is the way that I see it as well. For example (I'm using round, hypothetical prices here...)

You purchase a 2005 5-day park hopper for 235.00 through AAA.
A 2006 6 day park hopper is 275.00, and that's the type of ticket you want.

You go to Guest Services with your 2005 ticket in hand to upgrade. They "ring up" a 2006 6-day hopper for 275.00 and subtract the value of your 2005 ticket of 235.00, therefore charging you 40.00 for the upgrade.

I'm not sure about whether it you wind up better in the end because I haven't looked up the exact prices, but if you don't have that info I'm sure someone will be able to help further!

Hi,
I understand upgrading the days, however I have a 2005 6 day hopper that expires. How much to add no expire to the pass???

You guys are great thanks!
Barbi

Adding "no-expiry" to a 5-day pass costs $42.60 (w/tax). "No-expiry" on a 6-day pass costs $53.25 (w/tax).

That's if they treat adding no-expiry as an option instead of an upgrade.
