AAA & Free Dining Questions

Yes, Disney says you can not use both. There has been talk here that people have been able to in the past. We never have been able to. Maybe a luck thing.

It is explained to me like this:

1st) It depends on if AAA is available at the resort that you want. They only give AAA for so many rooms.

2nd) If you want Free Dine it has to be done by a AAA travel agent. They can combo the 2 deals for you with Disney) but if you do it by yourself Disney will only honor 1 of the discounts not 2. I don't know why thats just what I have been told by AAA and Disney.
But also again it depends if that hotel at that time will except the AAA and FreeDine due to each resort only giving out so many rooms for each AAA and Free Dine.

So with so many variables I think thats why people think that it is one way and then another.

Hope this helps.

My DW booked with AAA about 2 weeks ago at POP. She asked her then about free dining and at that time she the AAA TA didn't know anything about the free dining. But said that if Disney does have the free dining to call and she would change our dining to free dining. At this time we have the room discount I'm hoping they leave that as is and just add the free dining.

I spoke to an agent at AAA ( I am a member) and a CM at Disney. They both told me you cannot stack discounts, it is one or the other.

Don't know about this year? However last year I got both. My agent said she thinks she can do it again ? She asked while I was there a few weeks ago and was told that they would add the code when it was time. Time will tell ! Last year I was lucky :yay:
I just looked it up last night . Last year I paid a total including deposit of
$1013.34 for 9 nights at the POP with a 10 day park hopper and free DDP for 2!
It was a great price

Wow that was great. I'm just going to ask them to add the free dining and see what happens. If it's only the free dining that would be great both would be:banana:

You can't stack discounts. System only accepts one code--whether its free dining, AAA, or a general booking.

So no room discount with the code for free dining.

There is conflicting information on this as you can see in this thread.

In 2005 -- it was clear. You gave up your AAA discount to get free dining.

In 2006 -- a few people (see above) managed to get both.. but most people reported they had to give up their AAA discount to get free dining.

In 2007 -- ?? We don't know yet.

TRADITIONALLY -- you can have your AAA discount -- or whatever package discount Disney is offering. But rarely can you have both.

Until I see a stacked (double discount) itinerary, I remain skeptical. Of the few who claimed to have received 2 discounts, none have produced paperwork to this effect. No, they are not required to... but you'd think one of them would just to shut me up...

:rotfl2:

(no need to wonder... I'm a real $%^&$ when it comes to discovery, too!)

Is this already out there on these boards somewhere?
I received a AAA newsletter today and this is what it says in there:

"AAA members can sample some of Disney’s culinary delights in a special member-exclusive offer. AAA Vacations is offering a Magic Your Way Plus Dining package for families who plan to visit the Disney resort between Aug. 26 and Sept. 22, 2007. The package includes two meals and a snack per person at any one of the more than 100 select restaurants throughout the Disney resort for free, providing the Disney vacation is booked through AAA by June 24, 2007."

Anyone else get this newsletter?

I have AAA, why do I never get these newsletters! Oh, I wish I could make two trips in Sept.

I'm sorry to add to the mud.

When asked, my AAA TA said it all depends on what the terms and conditions are of each discount Disney offers. It is possible to get the room discount and the free DDP if the terms say so.

question- if i wanted to book with aaa, how do i go about finding a aaa agent? i went to the website, and i saw where i could get a quote...would they then put me in touch with an agent? i have used a small world agent in the past and loved the experience- am thinking about using aaa this time, but i am worried, cause i have heard bad things about some agents. how can i be sure i am getting a good, knowledgeable aaa agent? what benefits are there to booking with a aaa agent? ie, are there additional bonuses that are exclusive to aaa bookings? thanks for any help you guys can give me!

The only reason I can think of going with the AAA agent is to get the room discount on a package with dining. If you are looking for a room only with the AAA discount then any travel agency can do that for you. Also some AAA offices charge a fee to book your vacation and /or to cancel one after you have booked so make sure you know all their terms

Does it mention when you can start booking or that 1st bookings are for Visa card holders 1st?

It IS typical for any Disney discount to say something like "No other discounts apply to this offer"

I'll be watching closely to see if the dining package includes that language.

There is only room in their booking system for one code and the CM must type it in. They have hundreds of codes from which to choose, and only one little box to type it in. That's why only one code per reservation.

Doesn't AAA just get a certain rate and then the discount code would be ZHQ for the free DDP?
