What does it cost to join AAA? How much of a discounts can you get on room only? Just wanted to know if it is worth joining? We have rack rates for our Aug trip at Pop Century now.. Thanks...

I just got a AAA packet in the mail. Cost here in NJ is $61 (I believe the rates vary a bit from state to state). I am also wondering if joining is worth it to save on a package.

I think its worth it! I have AAA and just priced out a package through them savings at a moderate resort was about $177, for a romm only at AKL savings was right at $200.
The AAA discounts for value hotels is 20% during value season, so doepending on when you're staying, its definitley worth the $50 or so to join. Plus if you decide against the package, you can still purchase the discount tickets through AAA.

During value season I know it is 20% off moderates and values. I have FQ booked in October for 119 a night (with tax) and ASMo in Nov for 68 a night (with tax).

Our next dates are not in value season. We'd like to book a package at CS. What would the savings be for Oct 15 - 23?

We recently signed up for AAA on line and it was only $44. We received our card just about 2 weeks after signing up. We booked CBR for Dec -perferred room $119 a night normally $149. It is worth it to me. Also you can get discounted tickets to universal studios and the movie theater in Downtown Disney. Works for us

Do you have to provide a membership number when booking or is it similar to the AP's, show proof when you register at the hotel? How much is membership and is that per year or month?

I think you have to give the number when booking - I did. The meberships seem to vary but all are around the $50 range (40-60 or so). That is per year. PLus you get the other benefits of AAA, which you hope not to need, but they come in handy in a pinch!

I've searched several sites for info about AAA WDW packages and have found conflicting information. If I were to book thru DU, will I get the AAA 15% room discount on my package, or do I need to book directly thru AAA? I'm just trying to get the best rate on an 8 night package (room, tickets and dining option) Oct 12-23.

DU can't book a package with the AAA discount. They can only apply the AAA discount if you only book a room. If you want a package and the AAA discount you will have to book through AAA.
