AAA discounts for Sept 04 stay

Hi Disneycastle,

Welcome to the Dis Boards! The AAA discounted rates are out for all of 2004. September is considered value season (up to the 29th) and the rates are usually 15% at the Deluxe & Home Away from Home and 20% at the moderate, value & Ft. Wilderness!

HTH!

Tracy

And don't forget that you can park right up front by the TTC at Magic Kingdom by showing your AAA card. This comes in handy if you stay late for the fireworks when the trams can be infrequent.

To get to this parking lot, stay all the way to the right when you enter the parking area and you will see a little brownish sign (about 12" by 12") that points to AAA parking. It's usually the same road though the cones that handicapped parking points too.

BigTigger - Have you been able to use those AAA lots just by showing your card? I had heard that you had to have booked your WDW vacation through AAA, too, and had to show something other than just your card.

TIA,

Are the 2004 AAA rates listed some where??? thanks..amy

Today I purchased an AAA membership so I could call CRO and add that discount to my current reservations for May and Sept 04.
AAA online gave me my membership number as soon as the confirmation of charges to credit card went thru. CRO just looked up my current reservations and made the adjustments.

May 2004 value resorts is 15% discount
was $99 plus tax=$110.88 per night
now $84.15 plus tax =$94.24 per night

savings of $16.64 per night times the 6 nights I'm staying and I saved $99.84 which more then covers the cost of AAA

BUT I'm going in Sept too and saved even more
was $77 plus tax= $86.24 (20% discount in value season)
now $61.60 plus tax= $69

savings of $17.24 times the 9 nights WOW saved another $155.16

SO now with the savings in Sept I booked Hoop Dee Do Review which eats up half but I still consider free:teeth:

It is worth the AAA membership to have some sort of discount for the resort so I'm not pulling my hair out waiting for AP discounts.

(This past SEPT there was not any AP discounts..)

So if your thinking of a WDW visit and you have AAA you should call and set up your reservation ..Thye have limited rooms available at each resort for AAA discounts.

I hope this helps someone to get on the ball and call....

Lori

Mousesavers.com lists AAA discounts as -

Value Season - up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

Regular Season - get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

Peak Season - up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

The only time AAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas).

You would have to check the rack rates, and calculate what your savings would be, like Lori did.

I booked this morning (Nov 17th) for Sept. 12-18, 2004 at Pop Century. The room rack rate was $77.00. I booked AAA rate at $61.60 per night for a savings of approximately $92.40 for 6 nights. Pretty good considering I joined AAA for a promotional rate of $35.00 with a free membership for my wife.

The cast member I spoke with did mention that there seem to be fewer AAA rooms being allocated for next year and I should be glad I booked early and was able to get one.

:smooth:

you can look at the aaa web site to see their rates. They add one month at a time , at least my regions web site works that way. At the moment they are only up to August 04. you can go to www.aaa.com and will get sent to you local web site based on your zip code. If you call CRO they will be able to tell you the rates.:bounce:

Thanks for all of the advice. We made a reservation through CRO today for Sept 18 to Sept 25 at Pop Century perferred view for
$77.60 a night including tax using my AAA card for a 20% discount. We still want to see if any discounts make staying at AKL-Savana cheaper than $260 a night.

I guess any discount that you can get my WDW is better than nothing, so that saves us $135.87 on our room.

Thanks,

DC
