AAA discounts at CC and shops...

What kind of discounts at covered? My DH wants to parasail and snorkel and I want to jet ski and boat.

I don't remember getting any discounts for excursions. I do remember though that there was a small one time discount for purchasing things on board in the shops. It was either five or ten percent but that has been a year and a half or so ago that i had booked a DCL cruise through AAA.

do you have to book through aaa travel to get the discount or can you get the discount just for being an aaa member?

thanx for clariying that. I couldn't remember the exact scoop on that. I also totally forgot about that $75 minimum.

The first time I transferred my existing reservation (I booked directly w/DCL) they gave me all of the discounts listed above (by KYCruiseCrazy). The 2nd time I watched for discounts mailed throughout the year to me by AAA & again transferred it to AAA after confirming (twice) that the discounts would still apply, even though I had already booked. (They confirmed that they would but ONLY if I transferred to them by a certain date - which I did.)

Then, when the cruise was over & we went to settle our bill at the desk, DCL couldn't honor the discounts because AAA didn't have them listed. It was a two-week battle with AAA to get them covered - which they finally agreed to do & reimbursed us, but they said in the future they couldn't honor the discounts unless we book with them directly to begin with. We did get our mug, but the 10% discounts & the $100.00 per room on-board credits were what they didn't want to honor.

Also, because of the hassle, they agreed to give us a 10% discount on our next cruise IF we book directly with them. However, when I went to book it several months ago, they told me they had no record of it!!!

I like our TA's at AAA & use them for other reservations, but not booking DCL anymore.
