:lovestruc We're headed to the Fort in ten months or so, and wondered about any discounts available for camping or shows? We'll be staying for about 12 nights and will probably only go to Mickey's Barbeque. We've looked at joining AAA just for the discounts, but wondered if they're accepted at Disney? :confused3

Yes, there are AAA discounts, but they are harder to get lately, so not guaranteed. They seem to be mostly on the premium sites. I don't believe AAA has a discount for shows but does on some tours.

Unless things have changed AAA discount for the Fort is 15% during regular season and 20% during the off season. I've never had a problem getting the AAA in the past, but haven't tried in the last year so I can't say.

Check with references for your particular triple A office. I would love to get the name of a Disney contact who is in charge of customer relations with triple A. I've been to Disney 5 times and a Disney Cruise each year as well. I used triple A this April, and although I said I wanted the hopper pass, they mistakenly signed me up for only ONE day at a park. That was it. Even though I bought the dining plan, stayed at a disney resort, etc all booked with triple A. When I got to the gate with my 7 year old on the second day, I was told that I didn't have tickets. I have to pay FIVE HUNDERED DOLLARS at the gate extra!!! What was triple A's response? They will give me one year free membership. big deal.:sad2: Just to let you know, the one I used was in Manchester CT

You can use AAA for resort discounts including all levels of sites at Ft. Wilderness. ( I have 20% off a partial site coming up in August). I have never used AAA packages as I am able to put together a better vacation myself.

I have never booked through a AAA office, I can do just as good on my own. Having said that AAA is awesome. Not only does it pay for itself in savings with the aforementioned discounts, but their roadside service is great. My wife locked her keys in the van a few weeks ago in a rural part of our state and AAA was there to unlock her doors within 10 minutes with a smile! Can't ask for much better service than that!

We booked through AAA - really they didn't give me anything special and with the discounts disney provided it would have been better to just go through disney but the thing that made me go through AAA was that they said they provide a AAA Diamond parking permit at each park and seeing that we will have our Van and my father in law has a wheel chair it will be easier for us to drive to the parks as opposed to the bus system to the parks. So for a parking pass i thought it might be worth it. Then we aren't parking a mile away and that way if they want to head back early they can take the van and we can take the disney buses back.

So really that was main reason for choosing AAA - otherwise any discounts i got i had to keep calling them and tell them to rechecking - i don't feel they did me any justice.
