AAA discount ?????

I currently have a package booked for Oct with a AAA discount. If a package discount becomes available with Disney Visa can I just call my agent and get the discount applied to my package (if available) with AAA or do I have to rebook? Not sure. Can anyone help?? TIA

If you have a package with a AAA room discount, and some different package comes out that you would rather have, you will need to cancel the existing package and rebook. Then you will not be able to get the AAA room discount. Disney will only allow you to have one discount per reservation. So for example to get free dining you can't also have a discount on the room. It is one or the other.

I thought I read in the code FAQ that you can just have them change the code applied, that they don't have to cancel the reservation, they just take off the AAA code and apply the other one. Can anyone confirm? I want to book through AAA for October 2009, but if a better deal came out, I would certainly want to use it.

I would like to know too. I went to AAA agent today but I dont think she knew to much. WDW site was down so she called the resort to get info. I think i knew more than she did. She basically did what we do and asked for a price. The only difference is , she told them she was an AAA agent.

I'm not sure what our agent did, but he got the reservation switched. It involved changing resorts (No coded rooms left at the Contemporary for our dates by the time our code arrived) But one way or another, we got a great resort and saved almost $500.

So just how far in advance can you book your room? Does it differ as far as booking through AAA or CRO? We've decided to go in June of '09 and will book our room and tix separately since we know we won't be doing the DDP (BTDT, gained seven pounds in one week to prove it).

I seriously doubt I'll get a PIN for June (does that ever happen?) and at least I can hope for a small room only discount through AAA.

So, are you saying that you managed to find a room at the POLY which will end up costing you less than the AAA discounted rate at the CR? Were/are you booked on a package with DDP, or are you talking just room/park tix? We are going at the same time you are (just after high season in mid-August) and are booked through AAA with the DDP. I wish we could be surprised with a PIN like that - but if we have to eat the $2OO AAA deposit then we probably won't be able to make the most of any PIN/CODE anyway...unless as yours did, our AAA agent can switch us. Of course, we don't even have a PIN - should I keep checking in with Dis? (I had a res with them before I cancelled in favor of AAA, and we have the planning DVD - so maybe there is hope?)

We had a package at the CR: room, tix, DDP, on the AAA discount.

When the PIN came through in January, there were no coded rooms left at the CR. So my AAA agent checked and gave us 2 deluxe options (family of 5): we could have the same package at the Poly and save $500 over our then-current package, or stay at the Grand Floridian and save only $200.

We jumped at the Poly.

I forget whether he just had the $200 applied or whether they refunded it and charged a new deposit.

Someone just posted about receiving a pin valid for July dates (there may have been some August ones in there too.) So go to the reservations site and play with some options, just in case a show of interest is needed as a reminder. Then check your email and snail mail every chance you get.

Oh, yeah: cross your fingers and toes too
