I know you get a AAA discount on room only and on tickets, but what about their packages? Are they discounted or about the same as thru Disney. I have found doing it over the phone better than online, does anyone else agree?

If you book through another agent can they apply a AAA discount to the room portion of your ressie?

If you want a package and a AAA discount, you need to go through a AAA travel agent. If you want a room only AAA discount, you can get that directly through disney.

Brentalex is right. Let me just add that the AAA discount if you book a package through an AAA agent, is off the room portion of the package.

I am pretty sure you do not get a discount on the price of the park tickets with AAA, although if you book through them, they will give you a diamond parking pass so that you can get a better parking spot at the parks.

That's correct. The discount is only on the room portion, but if you want to do the DDP, you have to book a package, and the only way to get the AAA room discount when booking a package is to book directly thru AAA.

Thanks, guess I'll call aaa

If you book through AAA are the cancellation procedures the same as booking through Disney? In other words, can you still cancel a reservation without penalty up to 5 days prior? I have booked rooms for a weekend in February, but it is connected with a work trip that could feasibly change, so I don't want to have a reservation that is set in stone. That said, we're members of AAA, so if there are benefits, I'd like to take advantage of them.

:goodvibes My understanding is that cancellation provisions are the same whether going through AAA or Disney Destinations directly...Good luck!

Correct, AAA is your agent. You are not booking a trip to AAA. You are booking a trip to Disney via AAA. And it is not 5 days without a penalty, it is 45 days out when the penalties begin.

How much has everyone saved by going through AAA? I'm trying to decide where I want to stay and if its worth going through AAA or not. I'm also trying to decide if I should just book through Disney that way I can get free dining. Also, what time are the AAA TA reachable using the toll free number? I'm just trying to get everything figured out!

We are going December 13-21 and I saved $250 on my ressie at the AS Music Family Suites for 6 nights of the ressie, cause the other 2 night are during Holiday season adn there are no discounts during that time.

I actually saved more than that, because we ended up buying an AP (at a AAA discount), so we didn't need park tickets, that was another $623 savings.
