AAA discount thru Dreams Unlimited?

You sure can! I have done it many times. And the great thing is, if Disney releases a code that is better than your AAA rate, you will automaticaly get that rate. No bothersome phone calls needed!

That is one of the reasons I use DU. The other is how helpful they are with ADRs. I much prefer giving my TA a list of what ADRs I want, and letting her take care of them for me, than having to call and do it myself.

I am totally obsessive when it comes to planning.. I'd prefer to book everything myself and have all the control over it, but the AAA discount is too good to pass up...

However, I hate leaving our ressies with agents that know less about Disney than I do..! It seems like they are in no hurry to re-book with new discounts etc... while I am freaking out knowing there are a limited number of discount rooms avail!!!

Anyway, I may just have to turn it over to DU this time... and sit back and take an anxiety pill!

Sounds like I'd be in good hands...

PS Have you always gotten your ADR's? How specific are your requests?

TIA

All the DU agents are picked because of their Disney knowledge. They don't just book the trips they go to Disney themselves.

I'm pretty specific with my ADR requests. For my last trip, I requested breakfast at the Crystal Palace at 8am. I didn't think I had a prayer, as it was only a couple weeks until my vacation. But we got an 8:10 am ADR, so I was thrilled!:dance3: If you want something you know is hard to get, like breakfast at the Castle, let your TA know as soon as you can. Prior to the 6 months mark if you can. I have done this, and have yet to miss out on any dining that I truly wanted to do.

Just to clarify- you can only book a Room Only reservation with the AAA discount through Dreams Unlimited. You cannot book a Package with the AAA discount through them.

In the past I have always made my own reservations, but for the last 2 or 3 vacations I have made my reservations through Dreams Unlimited and was able to take advantage of the AAA discount every time. Marla (from DU) is absolutely wonderful!! :goodvibes She followed through on the reservations, caught additional discounts, and this past trip was given quite a workout. My grandmother had a heart attack and passed away around the time of our last trip, needless to say, we made numerous changes to our ressies and Marla didn't miss a beat.

So no dining package if we book with a AAA rate thru DU? Right? But I can get a package if I use a AAA agent...

Yes if you book through aaa you can ge an aaa discounted package (meaning you get the discount on the room portion of your package).

This is true. You CANNOT get the AAA discount plus DDP if you book anywhere else besides AAA direct. The only place you can get the whole thing is through AAA. Dreams Unlimited or most other travel agencies (and even Disney directly if you call CRO) can get you the AAA discount on a room only reservation. But to get the DDP, you need to go through AAA.

There are benefits to AAA. Last year, we got a cute little storytime session in the MK because we'd used them, and you get a discount card for shopping at DTD and a preferred parking pass if that matters to you.

Plus, we saved close to $400 off the package (that's room, DDP, and park tickets) through AAA versus going directly through Disney or another travel agent. The discount is all off the room portion of your package, and the percentage off depends on the season and the level of resort (value, mod, deluxe, etc.).
