AAA discount/dining question

If I purchase my park tickets from AAA and have a great room only rate from WDW, can I get the Dining plan added or does it have to be all part of one package?

To make it clear.
I have a great rate on rooms from Disneyworld itself in November.
I want to get park tickets from AAA for their discount.
I want to have the Dining plan added.

You would need to change your room-only reservation to a Magic Your Way Package - but then, yes, you can add the Dining Plan.

But if they change to MYW package, then they're buying the park tickets from Disney, right? So they'll lose the discount from AAA?

I read the question wrong.

The OP would need to talk to an AAA Travel Agent to make sure any package would include the great discounted room rate (i.e. transfer the reservation and have AAA amend it). But then, yes, she could include the DDP at its published rate.

Last 3 years booked thru AAA added the Free DDP and then had the room discout taken away. But there are others here that say they have been allowed both room discount and Free DDP. Maybe a good travel agent can get you the 2 discounts.

You can get a discount on your room/tickets package with the paid dining plan if there is one available You shouldn't be able to get it with free dining. Free dining is your discount and Disney doesn't combine discounts. Anyone who got a room discount in conjunction with free dining is extremely lucky.

I was wondering the same. First Disney trip later this year. I joined AAA just for the discount on the hotel. (CBR $119.20 during 09/25-10/01) but the dining plan was not included. So, I thought I would book tix through Disney with the dining plan, but I guess that's not the way it works? I read elsewhere on these boards that it's better to do away with your AAA and take the Plus Dining Pkg on most stays since you can't combine them.
