So what happens when the AAA Diamond parking lots are full?

Are the cars with these passes just routed back to where everyone parks?

Has this happened to anyone with a pass?

If they are full, you park with the other guests and yes, during peak times, they do fill up.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a AAA Diamond Parking pass? Is this something anyone with AAA can get, and if so for how much? Where are these lots found?

TIA

You get a AAA diamond pass from your local AAA office if you book a Disney package through them. I've also heard people sometimes get them if they buy their park hoppers there, I guess it's up to the local office. The AAA lot is at the front of the parking lot, usually close enough to walk to the park gate (or TTC).

Does anyone know what would be better for me to use AAA parking or the hanicap. I will have 2 people in ECV.I understand that taking the bus or water taxi for the cabins to MK is better than driving. But what about the other 3 parks. Thanks for the help.

Handicap parking is still closer than AAA parking in AK, MK, and MGM. I would think it's closer than AAA at Epcot too, I just can't think of where it is there at the moment.

You may want to ask the attendant in the booth when you pull up or one of the ones directing traffic. :wave2:

We have a wheelchair bound DS in the family, so we try to keep track of stuff like this. Your best info on the subject would be obtained from the good folks on the DISabilities board, which I check regularly.

From your question is seems that you will be at the FW cabins? For most Disney resorts I would recommend taking the Disney buses. For FW, I understand there are lots of stops on the bus, and that you would be best off getting on at the first or second one. Post on the DISabilities board, and there will be folks with more info there.

Perhaps driving would be more expeditious, esp for the farther away parks like AK and MGM. I believe the AAA is slightly farther to the entrance in both cases (not sure tho), and no worries about the annoying shuttle to the entrance nonsense (this is why we like the bus). AK I would definately drive, but the rest might be better with the Disney bus.

Handicapped would be closer, but, you will need a handicapped sticker to use it.

We went to our AAA office here in Syracuse NY and they told us that we would just have to buy the hoppers to get the parking pass. We said we already had our passes and the girl gave us one anyway. Try..... you never know.:)

Each bus can hold a total of 2 wheelchairs or ecvs. The buses deliver you directly to the park turnstiles. If you drive to MK, you will end up at the TTC and need to take either the boat or monorail to the park turnstiles.
The boat from TTC is wheelchair accessible, but the boats from the campgrounds are sometimes not accessible to wheelchairs due to high or low water levels. When it's been dry, the boat floats low in the water. When ther's been a lot of rain, it might float too high compared to the dock. The boat driver can use a ramp and do some "creative loading" (such as loading the ECVs first if the boat needs to be light to float higher). Sometimes, the difference between the boat and the dock is just too large to be able to get an ecv on. So, then your options are driving or the bus.
