AAA, Costco or GetAwayToday?

We went to DL last fall and booked through AAA. At the time it was the best package.

We plan to go again this fall and want to book 6 nights at the DL Hotel, 4 day park hopper tickets and 4 character breakfasts. 2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant. I priced it out at Get Away Today, and it came to: $2468. Costco.com won't let me price out more than 4 nights at a time online? My AAA account is Canadian through CAA so I can't see prices online (I have to take all 3 kiddos to the AAA place to sit & talk with the lady).

Is AAA or Costco going to be cheaper than this? I seem to remember Costco being cheaper than GAT but only by a few bucks (less than $25). Last time AAA was significantly cheaper.

Does anyone know approximately how much the price would drop from GAT prices to what AAA would charge? (if it's cheaper?) We plan to go mid-september if that helps.

Thanks.

Just want to tell you about my recent Costco experience. We booked the trip and bought trip insurance. Well as bad luck would have it, we woke up at 4 AM for our 6 AM flight SICK. Couldnt go, and went to the doc etc etc. Costco was the WORST to deal with in regards to the insurance! They had sent some little insignificant trinkets in the packet, which of course we had given to our kids when the packet arrived. We were told we had to send back everything, even the stickers or we would not get our $$ back. So, we had the pleasure of not only cancelling our childs 8th birthday trip to DL, but also removing the stickers and pins etc from them. I will NEVER book thru Costco just to save $25 ever again! That was uncaring and uncalled for IMO. Since they couldnt find any other loop-hole (we were really sick and had doctor documentation) that they figured they'd try to screw us over this way. I didnt want to take the stuff away from the kids but I couldnt just give away $3000 over stickers and buttons and a fake coin.

I know you can't do AAA online, but have you thought about just calling them, and telling them your date and plans. I have, and they were super nice, and called me back with prices, and options. I agree with you also about pricing...AAA gave me the best price too the last time we went. This time when we go in June, I did it on my own. DLH gave me the AAA hotel quote, but I didn't want to get a package yet, cuz I wasn't sure how long we could stay yet, and how many days we would be in the parks. If I had known, AAA could have saved me even more money. But I didn't want to worry about cancelling just in case.
Good luck and let us know how you did!:woohoo:

I have always found getawaytoday to be cheaper than both costco or AAA and you can't beat their service. They also have an outstanding cacelation policy.

When are you going? If it's in the fall you may want to wait to see if the 4th night free promo is going to happen this year. getawaytoday has had it in the past for a lot of the good neighbor hotels.

I booked with COSTCO because of the free character breakfast and $20 gift card. It made it more than worth it for me :)

Maybe it's just my dates, but I'm paying all but $1 for that "free" breakfast with Costco. It was worth it b/c we wouldn't have paid out of pocket for it, so it worked to prepay it, but otherwise Costco definitely included all but $1 of the included character breakfast!

The gift card, however, pushed me over the edge into Costco. :)

We're going in mid-September, too, our package is from the 17th to 20th.

We priced out AAA and Costco, and like I just basically said, the AAA package was officially cheaper, but Costco included that character breakfast, which we wouldn't have done otherwise. The lanyard vouchers and so on were also included with both, though the Costco gift card did push us over into Costco.

I don't know why you are having issues looking at more than 4 days, it might just be a weirdness right now, because I've recently looked at the costs for longer than that, at the same time, and I was able to do so.

Right now SOME hotels (good neighbor) are doing a 3 days 1 more day free special, so maybe that's confusing things...I know Anabella is one of them.

After I booked, I found getawaytoday, and I think they were right around in the same cost as Costco, though I'm not sure they had the character b'fast.

teacups, that's so rotten about their trip insurance! I'm really glad I didn't buy it through them.
