I keep hearing two different answers to the same question. Can you or can you not get the dining as part of a AAA discount package?

yes, you can get it but the only way to get it is to book through a AAA travel agency. You can't call and book it yourself and "just any" travel agent can't book it for you, it has to be AAA. Anyone can book a AAA discounted ROOM but only a AAA agent can book a package with the AAA discount. Or at least that is how it was explained to me.

The previous poster is correct. Also, if you are wanting a discounted AAA package, you need to book it ASAP. The AAA rooms fill up fast, especially since this is the only way to get a discount on the dining package right now.

We tried for weeks to get a AAA package and all the rooms were full. We had to give up and pay rack rate since we wanted the dining.

Minor correction: inept AAA agents do not seem to be able to book the package with the room discount. My batting average on speaking with the "inept" is .500. Know the prices before you call so that you can call back and get someone else should you, too, befall the curse of the inept.

I got a quote from AAA to see if it was in fact discounted and it was $2.00 higher than I got on Disney's website. So much for a AAA discount.

We saved $476 on our trip by booking thru AAA. This was 7 nights with dining at OKW.

It very well maybe that there are no rooms left for your dates with a AAA discount available. You really have to planearly or luck out on getting a AAA discount on your room.

By booking thru AAA we saved over $300 plus we will get $25 at check in (from a promo in Jan), diamond parking, use of the AAA lounge and a few other little perks.

::yes:: This is so true. The first AAA I talked to was clueless. I think the only thing she knew about Disney was that it was located in Florida.

The one we have now quoted us roughly $500.00 less than Disney. We got the room discount and the dining package. She really knows her Disney stuff.

Hi,
What I did was call Disney travel direct and ask for the rate for my dates with AAA. (CAA in my case since I'm canadian) and they gave me the rate. Then when they couldn't add dining, I took the rate into my nearest CAA travel agency to see if I could get the same rate plus the dining rate ($35 per adult and $10 per kid per day). I managed to get within $20 of that so I took it. Just make sure what your AAA rate would be and then you know if your local agent is in the ballpark with $$$.
Happy planning & don't forget to book your PS meals if you get the dining plan!!!

Maybe I should try AAA again?? We are planning on the last week of September, do you think the AAA rooms would have been sold out by now?

I would give it a try. You never know. And they hold the reservations for three days so you can decide if you want to go with them or not.

What is the discount on dining with AAA - is there now a discount on their dining pkg, or is it just that their dining pkg is the discount? We are going in July 2006, and still haven't decided whether to go thru AAA. I'm definately interestred in the dining pkg, tho, with 2 teen DSs and a DH who can eat very well! :goodvibes

Go to the AAA website and see how many local offices are in your area. There are three close enough for me to use, but one of them is specializes in WDW vacations. I saved quite a bit and our agent has been extremely helpful - even makes all of our PS. AAA regions are very different, so if you don't like one, go to another. You many even be able to book online thru an agency not even in your state.

We've booked our last 2 WDW and DCL trips thru AAA in our town -our TA seems very knowledgable, and her daughter was a CM for awhile, also. She also has had numerous trips herself to WDW and on DCL, so i think she would be fairly knowledgable as far as AAA TA's go. I just had wanted to book this all on my own, trying for the best deal. I need to just find some time to go over al the figures -it gets a bit overwhelming to just even think about it!
