Aaa/caa?

Has anyone ever tried to secure a room at WDW requesting an AAA/CAA discount and was told none were available, OR is it usually quite easy to get the AAA/CAA discount?

Hi

We just booked 3 rooms using CAA discount with no trouble. However, each room had to have someone in it with a CAA card which we had to give on the phone. Good luck!

oops, I guess I was mistaken. I was under the impression that you did not have to have a AAA/CAA membership until check-in?

PLEASE correct me if I have incorrect info...

I was hoping to book using a CAA code (but not having an actual membership) then switching to an AP rate (I was not planning on buying an AP until a couple weeks before check-in) or a general discount code. Does that mean I can't book an AP rate without having actually bought an AP?

I thought with my plan the most expensive rate I would have to go with would be the AAA/CAA rate.

PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!!

I know that you definitely DO NOT need to have bought an AP in order to book a room at the annual pass discount. You do, however, need to show your AP the day you check-in.

As for CAA, we were only allowed the discount ($99 regular and with CAA discount, $84) after we gave them our CAA number.

Our plan is similar to yours. We've booked our rooms with CAA discounts, but will keep a watchful eye for discount codes closer to the time. I'm hoping we can get it at an even better price.

I tried two days ago to get the Poly in Oct. using AAA but there were no AAA discounts available for that week. Could someone please let me know what a CAA is. Thank you

I just made ressies this morning at the POR and got a AAA discount, even though I don't have a card right now. They didn't even ask for one. I just asked for the discount, and the CSR actually told me to check back often to see if discount codes would be available that would make the rates even lower. She did let me kn ow that I had to have the AAA card with me when checking in to get the rate.

I know the Swan and Dolphin are not actual Disney resorts, but I tried to make ressies for the same dates there with the AAA discount, but they were not available, which is why we booked at the POR.

I even called the AAA travel center directly and let them know that I did not have a card yet, but was just interested in the rates if I were to become a member, and the CSR there checked for me. It was the same as quoted by Disney.

I personally think that they require # for AAA/CAA. I'm not meaning to flame anyone here and hope I don't get flamed back, but since there are only so many of these discounts it seems unfair for them to be booked by a non-member at the time and taking those reservations that do belong to AAA members just to wait and see if there is a possibility for AP rates to come out.

minnieandmickey - I agree with you 100%!!! Maybe, just maybe, I could have gotten a AAA discount for my ressies in Oct. but now that I know that people do that, I will keep checking back to see if a discount becomes available.
