AAA and Starwood points?

I thought I read if you register your AAA membership number at the Starwood membership site you could get additional benefits like upgrades, late check out, etc. Was it Starwood that does this and if so, where can I do this? If it's not Starwood, which hotel chain was it?

You can go to starwood.com and do a search for preferred guest. I just stayed at the Sheraton Safari. Received late checkout and upgrades because I'm a Starwood Preferred Guest.

Thanks travelin' tigger for the info! However, I must be doing something wrong b/c I can't find where I'm supposed to input my AAA number. I signed in at the Starwood site but don't see it anywhere. Anyone know where I should be looking??
