AAA and free dining

We are planning to go in Sept 07 and hope the free dining discount comes out in the spring. However, for now I was thinking of booking through AAA to get the best rate for now. With this said, if I book through AAA and a free dining code comes out, will they apply it to my reservation and credit the difference?

One other thing, does anyone know about Disney VISA points. I seem to recall they had to be used directly with Disney travel.

The last two years we booked w/AAA & then free dining came out. What we had to do was call the AAA TA & let her know (I watched the boards so I knew when it came out before she did!!) that I wanted to take advantage of the free dining. Both years we didn't have any major problems, just know that you may not be able to keep your same resort/preferred room/dates/etc as they only allow so many rooms at each of the different discounts.

Basically, they will make a brand new reservation for you for the free dining & transfer your deposit and other payments to the new reservation & cancel the old reservation.

You will lose your AAA discount on the room, but for us (2 adults) it was a better discount to have free dining than the AAA discount on the room.

We'll be booking our Sept 2007 package through AAA in the next few weeks & am hoping for free dining again as well!

As for the Disney Visa, I cannot speak to that! Sorry!!

I just called AAA for a ressie for late April, got approx a $200 discount on the package and the TA said no problem with using the Disney Visa Rewards dollars - she said they've always been able to use them in the past. I didn't actually book it yet, but I don't think it will be a problem.

I used AAA last year and got to keep my room and resort but it was a headache if your heart is set on one resort I suggest you book thru disney that way you can modify it yourself with disney and not have to go thru a thrid party. which drove me crazy. i new of the free dining 2 days before I could reach my agent to change it.

I had no problem with AAA either when free dining came up she called me and credited it immediately - I did have the disney credit card which I believe gave advanced notice - priority reservations. I can't wait to use my points.

So, I checked with AAA today and it is about a $100 savings on a 4 night stay at Poly. Nice, but not what I was hoping for. It does seem easier to deal with Disney if I think Free Dining is coming anyways. Still not sure though..
