I need some help from you budgeting experts--been reading the boards for a while and am so impressed with how much you know! I'm planning a trip in Sept. for 2 adults and 4 kids (2 paying adult tickets, 2 paying kid). Here are the questions:

1) Can a child be the annual pass holder and the family still get the room discount?

2) If we have an annual pass, do we also get a AAA discount on top of that (for resorts)?

3) Is there a AAA discount on the annual pass?

4) Do we have to use AAA to get AAA discounts on either resort stays or tickets?

Thanks,
NB

Some say yes and others say no.

No.

There are no discounts on AP's.

You can book a AAA discounted room-only reservation with Disney or a TA.

Technically, the answer is "no". The reservation must be in the AP holder's name and a child cannot reserve a room. In practice, that is not always the case. You may not even be asked to show an AP at check in. But then, I wouldn't take that risk.

2) If we have an annual pass, do we also get a AAA discount on top of that (for resorts)?
Discounts are not "stackable". You can use one or the other but not both.

3) Is there a AAA discount on the annual pass?
The only discounted APs are for Florida residents and DVC owners. Everyone else must pay the full price. There is a deiscount for renewing your AP, but the clock starts ticking the day that your old AP expires. Unless you have a trip planned that is very close to that expiration date, it isn't worth it.

4) Do we have to use AAA to get AAA discounts on either resort stays or tickets?

If you wish to purchased the discounted tickets, then you must go thru AAA. If you want to book a package, then you have to go thru a AAA travel agent. If you want to book a room-only ressie, you can use any TA or call Disney CRO directly.
