AAA and ADRs

This is our first family trip to WDW (me, dh, dd(will be 5) and ds(will be almost 3)). I haven't been to WDW since I was a kid and we are SO excited!!!

I booked my vacation through AAA, but would like to make my ADRs on my own. I've read some posts that all I need to do is give my phone number, but when I called, the Disney reservationist did not find me. When I told her I booked through AAA, she said my TA would have to make the ADRs.

Any suggestions? I'll be in WDW 11/28 - 12/4, so I'm not even sure how important it is to make ADRs for everything. The only thing I will be disappointed about not getting is CRT.

Don't know how much help I can be, but I didn't think you needed to be a resort guest to make ADR's?
I booked with Liberty Travel last time (since I worked for them then) and was able to make all ADR's myself.

Anyone can make an Advance Reservation. At one time, it was for Disney Resort guests only, but that is no longer the case.
Might be worth a call back to get a different agent LOL!

I booked through AAA and made most of my own ADR's. My TA offered to make them but we were going back and forth with times and such so I just called and did them myself. Disney asked for my phone number and was able to pull our info up that way.

Do you have your confirmation letter from AAA? My "client file" number is my room reservation number.

I know you don't have to be a resort guest to make ADRs, but my understanding is that you do have to stay at the resort in order to be able to make ADRs for your entire trip 180 days prior to your arrival date. I was hoping to be able to do it all in one shot. But if it doesn't work out, I'll just call each day.

I do have a client file number (same as the AAA "confirmation number"). I'll try that when I call tomorrow. Thanks!

no the TA does not have to make your reservations. I made all of them myself. When i made my reservations I didnt have a confirmation number or anything. They asked which resort and I told them. I didnt have any problems at all. In all my years, i have never had a problem.
In fact when i booked 2 years ago, i didnt even have a resort reservation made yet. We were undecided on which date to leave. Since i knew I wanted to do CRT, I called at 7AM exactly and asked what day was exactly 180 days from that point. I had my choice of times for CRT and i just gave my CC #. Then i booked my resort a couple of days later when we decided where we wanted to stay.
Maybe things have changed now.

Just call dining dining and they will find you in the system! It'll be fairly simple.

We booked through AAA and I booked all our ADR's. I gave the CM my phone number instead of reservation number and everything worked out fine. The only think I couldn't book myself was Magical Express.

You can make your own ADR's. I booked my trip last year through AAA, but made all of my ADR's on my own directly through Disney Dining.

This was my first time booking pkg. with AAA as I'm a complete control freak when it comes to planning my vacations I NEED to be in charge of everything so it was so difficult to relinquish a portion of that control to my AAA agent

I made all of my own ADR's w/ no problems whatsoever. There should be a confirmation # at the top of your AAA conf. form. Sometimes the CM I spoke w/ at CRO would ask for that... while other times just your phone #.... I didn't have my TA make any arrangements for me at all except the base MYW package (I booked Tiffany Town car as DH refuses to do Magical Express-he prefers personalized service on vacation ) and we also booked our own airfare....

Another thing, call the 800 # 800-828-0228, I think dining is option #3. Save all the $$ you can so you can book another trip!
