AAA and ADR question from a neeeewbie

First, I want to thank everyone on here for the incredible information that you provide. I couldn't imagine planning our first family trip to somewhere like the world without the advice and pictures on this board. You all deserve such a big hand, thank you!!!!!

Now, my question. I have made reservations through AAA for seven nights 11/18-11/24. My ADR deadline is coming up soon. I have paid the deposit, but not the full amount to AAA yet. Can I make ADR's without paying in full to AAA? Also, can I call Disney myself and setup the ADR's or do I need to go through AAA? I would feel more comfortable doing it myself, as everytime I talk to someone there (AAA), it doesn't seem like they care all that much.

You don't need hotel reservations to make ADRs 180 days prior to the date of the meal. You only need hotel reservations to make all your ADRs on the same day, 180 days prior to your check-in date. You don't have to have paid in full to take advantage of the resort guest priority for making ADRs, but you do need your reservation number.

Just a tip: I have made a few ADRs in advance of our 180 day mark (HDDR, LTT) and have not had to give them my reservation number. They will ask for it, but I have simply told them that I am booked through AAA and they have not pursued it. Have it handy, in case, but I wouldn't be too concerned. Happy dialing!
