AA same as AAA?

I'm with the AA and sent an e-mail asking if they were the same as/affilliated with AAA (they have a reference/link to AAA on their site). I was told Yes & all I have to do is show my card.

I wondered has anyone put this into practice and booked AAA rate and shown their AA card as ID when they got to the hotel? The AA may tell me it's the same - the hotel may not be of the same opinion.

Ocky, anywhere in the states that offers special rates for AAA members will honour AA members because they are affilliated.

Thanks for confirming that Yourwelcome. Just booked Hard Rock for $60 less than website rate. Better go and put my AA card inside my passport ready.
