AA changed the flight departure, can I get an earlier flight?

Hi everyone, I purchased airfare through AA back in early January for April/spring break. I just received an e-mail that states the flight will be departing 30 minutes later. I am traveling w/ a toddler and want to get to MCO as quickly as possible (new arrival time 9:13PM). Can I get an earlier flight at no extra cost since AA changed the flight time?

To get your flight changed with a time change, the time change has to be more than 2 hours difference. Your's is only 30 minutes, so I doubt you'll be able to get the change. It's worth a call though, the worst thing they can say is no.

If, the flight you are booked on is oversold they might be looking to bump people off it and will be more than willing to change you to an earlier flight, instead of, looking for volunteers at the last minute that they would have to compensate $$$ if they cannot be accomodated. This is not the norm, but, it happens!!! You just never know, It's worth a try..Good luck!!

AA changed my flight time by 30 minutes to 7 AM . I called and they were fine with putting me on the 11:30 flight. This was for a flight yesterday. Give them a call

If you show up at the airport early, you can stand by for the earlier flights for no charge most of the time.

AA recently changed our flight time by about 25 min. We were able to change to an earlier flight at no extra cost. The woman at AA told my husband that if they change your flight time by even 5 min., you can change to another flight with no penalty.
