We had a substantial discount on our room at Universal. I think one night paid for the cost of the AA membership. I had most basic membership and had bought through cashback site. We then had a discount on all our goods purchased think it was 10%. Also had discount in restaurants within US and IOA again think it was 10%. Only place I know they don't accept is at the karts. Think also restauarants within Citywalk may accept it. Can't remember if we used it there as we had entertainment book vouchers last year for free meal.
Basically you show your card everywhere cos if you don't ask you don't get.
We used it for a good discount on our Disney accommodation. You get 15% or 20% off the rack rate depending on the time of year. We also got a fair chunk off our hotel in Cocoa Beach.
The Disney AAA Discounts are listed here at Mousesavers:

You can get discounts with an AA card from the UK?
Do I need to tell my TA about this (using small world vacations)?
Yes! You should let the TA know. I used Small World 2 years ago and there was no problem at all getting the AA discount. Of course the AA is called AAA in the U.S. (referred to as "triple A") - Disney accept AA cards from all over Europe because when you join AA you become a member of the 'Show Your Card' club (I think that's what it's called - there's a little logo on the AA membership card) which is recognised internationally.
If you're going through Small World you could also be eligible for AA package discounts (not just room only) whereby if you book a package with dining you still get the 15% or 20% off the room discount.
Thanks Deb, I emailed the TA. I think she must hate me by now! In one week I've changed the hotel, the dates twice, and now I told her about AA discount. I wonder if she's going to email me back! I hope so cause I really want to book!
don't worry about it. Nobody in the history of Small World Vacations bookings changed their trip around as much as me. I did it all myself last year (not that we weren't pleased with Small World, we were!) and each time I made a change I thought "thank God I don't have to email them about this". lol!! My TA's name was Marian, she was so sweet!
Mine's Marion (same one? I think she's based in NH) Can't wait to hear from her again, I'm sooo impatient when it comes to booking vacations. Once they're booked, no matter how far off, I'm patient enough to wait for it.
Hi Deb
Got your pm!
Just one last question
DH will get the cheapest membership, do they give different cards for different memberships & will it still be accepted?
Hope that makes sense!!

Tracey, we have the cheapest membership - the type of membership doesn't matter at all. Just make sure to pack your AA card before you go cause it's an easy thing to forget! We were very pleased with the discounts we got. And it sometimes comes in handy for breakdowns on the road too - who knew?!!
