Hi Everyone! After perusing the Dining Reviews board, I have been inspired to muster up the courage to do a review myself! Photographing all the tasty treats I have at Disney World is always one of the highlights of my vacations, and I hope you enjoy seeing them all as much as I enjoyed taking them (and eating them :rotfl:).

This is going to based on my Summer 2012 trip. I shared most of my dining adventures with my DSisprincess: (lovewdwalways on Disboards) , who absolutely adores the most magical place on earth! We did not have a free dining plan this time (which always allows for many more dining opportunities) but we had a few ADR's, and took advantage of the culinary magic as much as we could.

Our Table Service experiences included:

Boma: Flavors of Africa at AKL

Tusker House at AK

Yachtsman Steakhouse at Yacht Club resort

I will eventually try to include links, once I get started and get the hang of all of this!

Well, here goes!
:wave2: :goofy:

Thanks for the encouragement! :disrocks:

After spending some time at some pretty Floridian beaches, we finally came "home" to our Disney resort! :wizard:

Our time of arrival leaves us with enough time to head straight to Epcot for a few hours.

I visited the world showcase and got right down to the taste testing! I had heard a lot on the Dis and other places that the Grey Goose Grand Marnier Orange Slush was one of the best drinks in Epcot.

It was definitely refreshing, but not as spectacular as expected. And a bit too STRONG for my taste! :drinking:

After wandering around the world showcase for a while , and feeling a little dizzy from that Grey Goose magic :wizard:, I figured it was time to get some grub.

I had the vegetarian platter from Tangierine Cafe. So yummy and filling and always seems healthy and wholesome too!

I don't think I ate anything before getting to the parks that day, because I was hungry!

I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese at Sunshine Seasons. Honestly, delicious!! Maybe it was the hunger talking, but I think it's some of the best I've ever had.

And that concludes Day 1 ! Stick around for more... popcorn::

You're off to a great start! The mac and cheese from Sunshine Seasons looks really good!:goodvibes

Breakfast the next day was not quite as "wholesome" :lmao: . I have my sweet tooth, so I decided, why not have cake for breakfast while at Disney? :cake:

The picture's unfortunately a bit out of focus, but you can get the idea. Red Velvet cake from quick service (or maybe it counts as snack credit? I'm not sure) at Coronado Springs. Very yummy! I'm very picky when it comes to RVC, but this one definitely met my expectations. I'm not sure if the frosting was cream cheese really though.

Later that day, lunch was at MK in Columbia Harbor House. I love getting a table at the top floor and looking out the windows at Fantasyland!

I had the fried fish basket with french fries.

Tasty, but with how oily the fried fish was, I think I should have stuck with apples as a side instead of the fries.

DSis had the lighthouse sandwich.

She really enjoyed it! We both really like that sandwich, the broccoli slaw is awesome.

Later that night, was Boma! ::yes:: Couldn't wait!

Can't wait to hear your review of Boma......it's one of my absolute faves!

Oh yes, one of my favorites too!! Doesn't seem right if we don't go to Boma when we visit the World.

LOVE the Lighthouse sandwich!

Great reviews so far!:goodvibes

Thanks so much! I know, it's a really good sandwich for vegetarians (I only eat poultry and fish, actually, but used to be vegetarian). :)

By the end of the day, we were finally at our favorite Disney restaurant in one our favorite resorts: Boma: Flavors of Africa at the AKL!

I have always loved the African themes all around the resort...beautiful colors, patterns, and cultural elements. After having visited Africa myself, I feel the AKL is pretty true to some of the fabrics and handicrafts found in certain parts of the continent.

And so the dining begins!

Boma was crowded as usual! Service was pretty good though, and hosts/hostesses were friendly.

Durban Chicken in the front, then from right to left Couscous, Fufu, Jollof Rice, Pap with Chakalaka, (maybe a few other items?). Everything was delicious and flavorful, Chicken was the best. But I was missing my "potatoes with Afritude". Actually I haven't seen them at Boma the last few times I dined there. :worried:

Mealy Bread (corn bread), more pap, Mac n' Cheese, mashed potatoes.

Artichoke and preserved lemon salad, hearts of palm, curry pasta salad. Not a huge fan of any of this but I always like to try a bit of everything to get the experience!

Coconut Chicken Curry Soup...so scrumptious! This was taken after I had devoured most of it already :lmao:

And it wouldn't be a true visit to Boma without these little guys...

fc1cd8f2-d552-4ae0-8a90-a75dca385f35.jpg

Zebra Domes :worship: , Kenyan Coffee Tart, fruit, chocolate chip cookie, pita with hummus (they always have a handful of hummus flavors, can't remember which this was).

Overall, dinner was a success!!

We started the day off at Downtown Disney (there never seems to be enough time to enjoy seeing everything in the Marketplace!), and I enjoyed a snack while relaxing on the benches or bleachers in front of the Waterside Stage.

I love the Mickey crisp rice treats!! They always taste so fresh and gooey for being pre-packaged, and the chocolate is nice and soft. And those little sprinkles are the cutest! :cutie:

The cute little birds were very friendly with me that afternoon :rotfl: . I was a regular Snow White!

After some shopping, DSis and I had lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. This was my first time eating at the one in Disney.

I had the Chicken Aioli sandwich.

8eaf6305-39fa-471a-8df4-f68637461a2b.jpg

The cilantro aioli was very tasty, and overall I liked all the elements of the sandwich, but for some reason I wouldn't say this was excellent. I think the sandwich was one with focaccia bread, which seems heavy sometimes.

Dsisprincess: had the Roasted Vegetable sandwich. I don't have a photo of this, but she mentioned that it was tasty, but there was not enough of the horseradish cream to give it the kick it needed. Dsis is vegetarian, and she doesn't like things with a smoky flavor to them, and she said she was pleased that the veggies in this were NOT smoky :goodvibes .

We both ordered the herb fries as our side (which I think cost a bit extra on the sandwich plates). They were really tasty, but really could use more herbs.

You can actually see Dsis's sandwich in the background there

Count me in too! Everything looks wonderful ! And I really should not have started looking at this so close to dinner... it's really going to make dinner look so bland tonigh! Can't wait to read more! :cheer2:

:rotfl2: I totally know what you mean! Once I get hooked in a thread on the dining reviews board, everything at home seems so ordinary by comparison!!

And thank you for the compliments, I'm so glad my review is being received well.
Oh, I see in your signature's ticker you have a trip coming up!! Always wanted to stay at the GF, its so beautiful, enjoy! :beach:

We spent the latter half of the day at DHS! We noticed the shops already had some halloween confections and decor on display...

Yum!! :hmghost:

 For some reason, I don't remember what we did for dinner that night! But I do have pictures of dessert :thumbsup2 .

Ice Cream from Hollywood Scoops

It tasted as good as it looks! It WAS divine! And hmmm I'm not sure, I can't quite remember, the peanut soup probably was there. I remember seeing the seafood one. I think they rotate some of their soups and other items, they're not always the same every day, because I don't remember seeing the chicken curry soup the first time I went to Boma...although that was over three years ago now!

Just popping over from WITW :thumbsup2 Looks great so far, I LOVE food reports. I could sit and read them all day long.

My younger brother said the same thing about the Mac and Cheese from Sunshine Seasons - he said it was the best mac and cheese in the universe :rotfl:

Looking forward to reading some more!

Hi Emelie! Thank you, so glad you enjoy my review. I completely agree about food reports/food pics...its a favorite pastime of mine ::yes:: , especially seeing dessert pictures from WDW and elsewhere!! :mickeybar .

About that Mac and cheese, yes it was perfect! I would agree with your brother :woohoo: . I like that it wasn't TOO rich, yet also not bland or processed-tasting like Kraft.
