guess I am missing something but do they really want to trade or just want the pins ( they seem young for trading, I can't picture most 3 yr olds I know getting the concept since even sharing is not always that well understood at that age, much less giving something away! ) if they just want the pin I would figure out who their fav. character is and buy them a "keeper" pin as a souvie.
I like the pins but do not want to trade so I just buy one of each resort we stay in( and a cute one or two for AK.
) .the cost adds up too quickly otherwise.
edited cause I just read your explanation... just food for thought but my grown daughters never remember the things I thought would be so disappointing for them. maybe I just lucked out and have great kids
but our disney trips when they were small were always on a shoe string and they just remember the fun. sometimes adults forget kids concepts are just not the same as ours. Disney is a treat period and one pin can mean as much as 10 to a little kid. don't beat yourself up over it.
