First off I am soooo happy she is bonded with you.
I would just keep trying lessons, unless this keeps up after a few more tries.
Could she be any cuter![]()
I am happy she was able to bond so well. She is the most bonded of my 3 adopted children. I think that is because she came to me at only 16 months. Even though I just adopted her a year ago I was her foster mommy the whole time.
I say pull her out, but maybe try taking her again and see what happens. I do assume if she kept at it she would eventually love it and accept it but at her age unless there a good reason why she needed to know how to swim now I wouldn't worry about it. I remember going when I was a kid and screaming. My mom never took me back I just learned on my own in 6th grade. I loved to swim before that, just never really knew how to really swim, but could doggy paddle and what not. With time that will come.
Has she ever been exposed to a pool before? I think she would still have a great time at GKTW playing in the water with you. Is it safer if a kid knows how to swim, of course, but I am one that doesn't think it is the end of the world if they don't.
She goes in the pool all of the time with me. Yesterday I had her swimming across the pool (with a noodle floatie) beside me.
I'm thinking maybe Wednesday I will have my husband take her. My husband must drop her off at sunday school and awanas or else she screams the whole time for me. When he drops her off she will cry for a couple of minutes but then settles down and will participate. She will NOT stay with a babysitter. Fortunately my 14 year old daughter is old enough to keep her at home when it is necessary. She does perfect with my oldest daughter.
I love her so much. But sometimes it can be fustrating. I am soooo thankful my oldest will keep her sometimes.
