How is dinner with Ariel? Is it a buffet line or family style?

We are planning on staying at the Disney's Grande California. Do they have kid's programs in the evening like the resorts at WDW do? What are they like and where can I get more info on them?

Where would you reccomend eating? We plan on eating a the Blue Bayou, b/c we never ate there when we lived in Ca over 12 years ago.

Thanks!

Ariel's Grotto menu is not a buffet or family style. There are about 6-8 items to pick from at lunch and you pay one price no matter which item you select. At Dinner the price is more and your drink and desert are included. That is the way it was last time I ate there. They have fooled around with the system a bit over time. I have eaten at the Trattoria at DCA and it was decent.
At Disneyland aside from the Blue Bayou we like the food at The Plaza, Redd Rockets in Tomorrowland and the French Market in New Orleans Square.
At the hotels I really like Storyteller Cafe at the Grand Californian. Hook's Point at Disneyland hotel is good and breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen is good and fun.

There is a piano player in the lobby of the Grand Californian in the evenings right next to the huge fireplace. They also give tours of the resort daily - well worth taking. I'm not sure what all the kids programs include (don't have kids) but the resort is wonderful.

Enjoy the trip!
