Lots of people have commented about which magical kingdom is the best - the MK or DL. It often seems to come down to which one they "grew up" (no matter what age) with. I've got some very good friends that grew up with DL, in-fact one worked there, and even though they now live in Orlando they still love DL the best. :hippie:

With that as background, let me just say that Val & I are throughly enjoying DL. Its really amazing all the extra little details there are in the park. We have been very lucky with crowd sizes this trip and the parks feel nearly empty. Got a chance to meet up with a west-coast DIS-er with her darling little girl and had a wonderful time touring the park with an expert.

I can see why people love this park so strongly.

oh, and the people watching here on the left coast is a whole different thing. :3dglasses

I couldn't agree more, Jeff. I "grew up" with WDW and went several times a year since I was younger. However, after going to DL for the first time two years ago and again this past summer, I have found that I actually prefer it over WDW. There's something very special about that park. I'm looking forward to going back this summer.

I am glad that you are having a great time! :thumbsup2

I agree. I love WDW because I can get to it more often. But there is just something special about DL. I have only had a chance to visit it once and it was just awesome. I am not sure if it because it feels more intimate and everything is so close by or the fact this was the original.

I don't really like to compare because though each park has similar rides, there are different. Which is good.

I am glad you are enjoying your visit.

Agreed. We are WDW vets who fell in love with DL last year. I've actually been back 6 times since and just bought my family APs. It just has that extra pinch of pixiedust.

Also wanted to say that the CM's here are very friendly. It seems that every one of them says hello. We had some great extended conversations with a few of them. One nice lady named Debbie in New Orleans Sq had worked for Disney for 32 years and had a lot of good historical info. She chatted with us for probably 10 minutes.

I wish WDW would spend a bit more time training their CM's to be so nice.

I went to DL for the first time this summer. I fell in love with it. I was in awe of how amazing the CM's were. It blew me away how they would take time and when they found out I wasn't local they wanted to know about my home and why I was in DL. But the moment that I knew the CM's were a different caliber was on my second to last day. My sister and I didn't have a map, and we really needed a map. We went to a podium for a restaurant and asked the cm if she had maps. She said, no but she tout the cm at the popcorn cart did. At WDW I would get that but the cm walked us across the street and got us the map. Never ever had that happen at WDW. That a cm would take you to what you were looking for.

I can't wait to go back.

We upgraded our WDW AP's to Premiere AP's at DL. Lots of folks hadn't seen them before and they were sometimes a topic of conversation. I was really impressed, and thankful, that in almost every shop/restaurant we were asked if we had AP's at checkout. How often does that happen at WDW?
