A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

That private party sounds awesome and I will be there on the 12th with nothing going on that night right now!! :cool1::cool1: I will totatlly go!

Where can I find out more details and buy tickets?

Just getting caught up--very cool about the private Dis party, can't wait to hear about it!

Soooo, last night I had a dream about the pb cake from Boardwalk Bakery except I was at a candy counter in DHS insisting that they had it (I think I even dropped your name, "Lurkyloo said you have it here!!!" :rotfl:) and they were like :confused3. Then I realized I was at the wrong placed, slinked away from the counter and headed out of the park to catch a boat to BWI.:lmao: I'm dreaming of cake, what does that mean???:rotfl:

WHY couldn't they do the Pixar Party the week before that!!!?!?!?!??! :headache::headache::headache::headache:

yay! I finally made it to a live lurkyloo TR!:woohoo:

I finally finished catching up on past reports (finished wedding crashers last night)...but first things first...:cake:

It's a chocolate doberge cake...they have them all over here in New Orleans. We had one for dh's groom's cake and it was to.die.for.

Here's a better picture (but a little less chocolate:eek:) courtesy of bakerella:

Sigh, that's better.

Waiting for more....

That Pixar Party sounds awesome by the way...

ok, so I know I just posted a yummy cake, but I cannot resist adding this one as well:

oh, and this:

ok, that's it. I'll try to restrain myself from posting any more today.

OK, I have been terribly remiss as a pre-Trip Reporter. Not only have I not responded to your posts yet, but I forgot to post that I would be live-Tweeting our D23 tour of the Walt Disney Studios today. :sad2: So, I'monna respond now, and then start working on a mini trippie while DH gets the photos ready, and then I'll post it here.

Got any link to more information? Any date you have to buy tickets by? AND what does the $25 include---just access to the park and non-stop rides on TSM?

So far, no sign-up info is available yet - Dreams Unlimited customers are going to get first crack at the sign ups, then it'll be opened to the rest of us. And since they said capacity is virtually unlimited, I'm not too worried about not getting in. :thumbsup2

Ooh! How does one find more info about this???

I'm soooo in! *Runs off to look for details*

I guess they'll be posting info about it in the Podcast forum, so I'm going to keep an eye on it and let you know when signups for the rest of us begin! :thumbsup2

Hi...ummm, I'm really late to the party, and now that I've caught up on all the previous TR's, am feeling ever so slightly like a stalker; and I'm wondering, can I come too? I have the admission price;
(A friend of mine and I have a boutique cake company that we do on the side, here's the NBC inspired B-day cake we did this week)

Great cake - thanks for posting!

I also showed my DD your wedding video and pics; no sign of a groom yet, (probably a really good thing since she's 9 LOL)but she's been saying she's definitely going to have a WDW wedding, so why not reinforce/enable it?

Right on! :thumbsup2 Going to a Disney wedding is just as much fun as having one!

Okay, hang on here... let's back up to page one... they have chocolate peanut butter cake at the Boardwalk?? I may have to hop in the car right now and go!!

I know, right? How did I not know about the existence of pb choc cake at the BoardWalk until just a few months ago? Thank goodness DISer Jenna tipped me off! :cloud9:

Also, yes - if it's not too much of a busman's holiday for ya, you should totally go to the DIS party! :goodvibes

Are you a fan of the podcast, too? Or did you read about it on the boards? I'm a super huge fan! :lovestruc

p.s. Have you tried Dreyer's Slow Churned Peanut Butter Cup ice cream? OMG, soooo good! And it's less calories/fat than the regular ice cream (not that you have to worry about that....;) ). It was on sale at Albertson's this week for super cheap ($2.88/tub!), so we bought 4 of them! (Yes, FOUR) :rolleyes1

I am a newcomer to the whole podcast thing (I only recently figured out I could also listen to them on the computer - duh!), but it sounds like the DIS one is really popular, and I've enjoyed the few I've listened to so far.

Thank you for the tip on the Dreyer's, too! I have heard good things about that Slow Churned but never had any motivation to try it until now (you had me at "peanut butter cup"...)

 Right now there's not much info, but I will be sure to post it when I see it. You can keep tabs on the Podcast forum, since that seems to be where it's mostly being discussed right now. Maybe as it gets closer they'll put info elsewhere on the site... although I never heard about it last year (before I discovered the Podcast board)...

I LOVE it! :rotfl: Hmmm... dreaming of cake must mean that you need to eat some cake! :cutie:

Aw poop! But the tradeoff is you are going to have a SPECTACULAR CRUISE VOW RENEWAL instead! :woohoo:

The Dis party sounds awesome and we also will be there on the 12th! Woo Hoo!!

Yay! I hope to see you there!

>drool< Love the cakes! I can't even imagine how hard it is to make all those tiny little layers and keep them from breaking as you set them on!....

No need for restraint around here - we are all about cake! :lmao: Thanks for the pix!

mmounsey, I am in LOVE with that cake and those cupcakes!! Were they for a party that you had or attended?? :lovestruc

I can't wait to hear about the tour! I have been hesitant to join D23 because it seemed like you had to pay $75 just to be able to buy other things. I have been on the fence about it, but might just make the leap if you thought the tour was worth it. Do you mind if I ask how much the tour was? We did buy tickets to the Expo, though, but just for Sunday. We might see you around! We're planning some DIS meets throughout the 4 days. If you're interested, let me know! :3dglasses

I totally hear ya about paying money to spend more money. I held off joining when it seemed like all you got was access to buy $400 pens and bland sculptures. But then they announced these experiences - the studio tour, a special screening and dessert party at Disneyland - and they were all FREE, so I took the plunge.

The problem is, there are 20,000 members now and the only way to get free tickets to these events seems to be to have the fastest Internet connection, cuz they "sell" out within one or two minutes of becoming available online. So I'm not sure I'll rejoin next year if I can never get into any other events.

Oh that's cool! I always assume everyone on the DIS is from "Back East" and doesn't come to West Coast events. Maybe we can meet up Sunday!

So I am simultaneously happy and grouchy to report that WDW is officially going back to a 180-day window for booking dining reservations and posting park hours -- but not til Oct. 27. :headache:

I will try to use this as an excuse to get DH to go back to WDW in February for our 2nd anniversary (since our ADR window would be, like, Oct. 27) but I don't think it's going to work...

WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE DECIDED THIS SOONER?! :sad2:

That is all. :upsidedow

I hear ya'.

The party sounds like so much fun. You will definitely need to share your pics from it.

Can't wait to see the D23 pics.

I wish! I actually did have a Disney party (for the MMC), but I didn't even see these or I definitely would have at least made the cupcakes!

I found them while browsing Minnie Mouse images on google when I was looking for a different avatar (which I obviously didn't find...hence, Tink)pixiedust:

Trying to catch up.

Still on page 17 lol

But here's the cake I got for my mom's b-day during our last trip. (July 2009)

wdw2009part2023.jpg

It was soooooooo good. Worth the price. Though it was big for 3 people. We ate around 3/4 of it in like 3-4 days.

Where did you get those???:yay:

Found them on a "minnie mouse" google image search...here is the orignal flickr page:

Cupcakes here:

Cake here: (but I think they come from the same flickr account/person)

After some more googling...it looks like they are both from a bakery called The Sweet Tooth Fairy in Provo, UT. And it looks like they ship!:hyper::cake:

Here is a link to the bakery page:

I thought I could get our tour written up quickly Saturday night, but as usual I started going long, so I'm gonna try to do it today.

In the meantime, you can check out the pix I Tweeted on Saturday at http://twitter.com/lurkyloo

One of the previous Moms Panel Moms from the first year did this cake! Isn't it the cutest

I love how colorful it is!

OK, I'll be back - hopefully with an entire trippie, but I may have to break it into parts if I can't restrain myself from writing a novel.... there are 200+ pictures tooo...

I did not post it there.

That's where I saw a picture of it first.

Do you think I should post it?

OO I was way behind.. but just caught up :thumbsup2:

I'm glad you liked Bakerella.. and I'm excited to see the D23 stuff! I joined but since I'm over on the East Coast I haven't been able to get all the benefits.. I don't know if I'll renew it next year.
