A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

We are also going the second week (well long weekend anyways) of December and will be staying at BLT. We are thinking of going to MVMCP that Thursday. I love The Night Before Christmas show with Mickey.

Good God...I take a few months off & you're gone, back & going again. I wish we could bottle you!

I can't stump up an entry fee (all of my cakes look like I decorated them when I was drunk...um...anyway...) so I guess I'll just have to lurk :rotfl:.

I just have to comment on this:

Holy diver...did you actually MAKE this cake?! It's incredible.

Good golly no!:rotfl: I pride myself on knowing my own limitations...especially when it comes to the kitchen!;) I know some great cake designers though!:)

Carrie - I think I missed if you are planning on partaking in the Dis-A-palooza events. So are ya???:goodvibes

Hey, you! :wave2: I wondered where you'd been! Now let's see some of those drunkenly decorated cakes - I mean, I posted pix of the Leaning Tower o' Cake I made for our home wedding reception... :rotfl:

Oooh! What's that? I feel like I don't know anything about MVMCP except the fireworks and the watery hot chocolate.

I didn't know anything about this til I read your post, so I checked it out over on the DIS Unplugged forum - those sound like FUN! Keep me posted when they release the signup for them - I'm afraid I might miss it. :thumbsup2

There is the cutest version ever of The Night Before Christmas in that theater between Buzz & COP. It's seriously adorable - Mickey in pajamas - enough said. When we went last time I don't think we rode more than a ride or two. We were too busy checking out all the characters, the parades and the shows.

So last night we went to the hipster L.A. wedding of the guy who introduced me and Patrick (his cousin, my prom date - that guy), and I was sure to chronicle the cake(s) for y'all.

First, the wedding cake:

It was carrot cake, but I can forgive them for that, because they also had...

The chocolate cake was straight-up chocolate, and the other was red velvet and it was amazing! The cupcakes were coconut, chocolate, red velvet, and carrot. We got to take a bunch home at the end of the night because the table full of popsicle-stick girls wasn't partaking... :rotfl:

They also had this cake, which was unfortunately lemon-lavender, but at least it was cute!

They had a local restaurant-bakery called Auntie Em's do the catering - if you're ever in Eagle Rock (and I know I'm not) check them out! Here's a link to a gallery of other desserts made by this place: http://www.auntieemskitchen.com/photogallery_01.html

A-ha! You know, they turned that theater into a cast parking lot a few months ago, but no reason they couldn't hold the show on the Stitch's Supersonic Celebration stage, now that it's been cancelled after something like just 6 weeks. :rotfl:

What?! No way!! Hopefully it will find a new location somewhere because it was ah-dorable! Stitch, Stitch, Stitch... I just don't know what to say about this one.

Yeah, it sounds like the problem wasn't with the show so much as the lack of shade. What a bummer!

:rotfl2:

No - I never had the pleasure of seeing it. Do you have a link? Guess I could just check YouTube. Now I'm curious! :teeth:

Joining late, but here is my entry fee!

Lurkyloo, are we going to be celebrating Christmas at Disney at the same time?

I'm another late joiner (I had to find an entry fee that would stand up to some of the others on here!)

Didn't make it, but it's awesome & features my favorite movie:

and glad to be along for the ride! I loved your wedding TR, but didn't feel like I should chime in since I wasn't in the crowd on the wedding board. It was amazing though!

I also heard the show was just unbearable and the lack of shade was the least of its problems.

Back from The World and marking my spot. Will take a bit to get all caught up though. The pages I clicked through had some mighty tasty looking treats!

I sure hope so - when are you going? Also, thanks for posting the GIANT cake!!

Oh wow - that cake is AMAZING! I love the level of detail. Re: the wedding boards, I'm sorry you felt uncomfortable about chiming in - but like everywhere else on the DIS, the people there are so sweet, they wouldn't have said boo about it!

Did I miss if you posted your dates yet?

Nope! Still kinda up in the air... hence the boringness of this pre-trip report...

Welcome back! :wave2: I really enjoyed your live updates from your trip!

[insert smiley of barfing robot from opening scene of "Lilo & Stitch"] Oh my goodness, I wouldn't watch that thing again even if I were in the shade!

We're only going for a long weekend since I'm a teacher and can only get away with a couple days that aren't during my built-in vacation time. We're arriving around midnight on December 11 and leaving December 15. We're staying in my parents' timeshare offsite. That was my wedding cake. There is a picture somewhere of me pointing to it and clearly saying to my mother "Look at my cake!!!!" I can't find it though, so instead I'll give you one of me eating it! Sorry it's so huge! I'm having trouble making it smaller!
