I've never posted on these boards before but for the past 7 months have been reading them in preparation for our trip from 4/15-4/23. Now that I am back I must say it was the best vacation ever. We went to WDW in 2001 and didn't stay on property but this time we did. Note, my writing skills aren’t the best so ignore the run on sentences, grammar and punctuation errors.

Cast: Me (30) vacation planner obsessed with Disney World and Disneyland!
DH (31) Loves Disney and left all the planning to me!

4/14- Flight left at 10:40 pm from LAX. We flew on Song airlines and we were quite impressed with this particular airline. DH is afraid of flying but with the tv on the backs of the seats he was occupied during the takeoff so he didn't squeeze my hand blue.

4/15- Arrived at 6:00 am at MCO, Cartier Towncar picked us up and took us to the first destination ASMU. We were only staying there one night before checking in to WL. I figured since out package(dreammaker silver) didn't start until Saturday, I wanted to get there a day early so we could recover from the flight/ jetlag and just hang out for a day before the ‘real’ vacation started. We got to ASMU around 7:30, our room was not available yet and all we wanted to do was take a nap! The CM were so helpful, they said to check back in a hour to see if our room was available. Well at 8:15 DH calls and they say our room is available! WOOHOO! We go to our room it was in the Country Building the farthest one away, but that was ok. We arrive and room was small but just being on Disney property made us both happy. We slept for 3 hours then decided to take a bus to DTD. We had lunch at Cap n Jacks (ok food) and walked around for awhile. Then we decided to get on a bus and check out the Poly and have a drink there. We board a bus and go to the Poly I had a lapu lapu and DH had a zombie. Came back to ASMU and DH went swimming ( I was too cold, it was really chilly the first 2 days!) then we relaxed.

4/16- Wake up early, leave AMSU at 7:30am to Magic Kingdom so we could take a bus/boat to WL (luggage was being transferred there). Once we get to Magic Kingdom we decided to take the boat, so we waited and waited and waited and no boat came so we hopped on the bus. When we arrived it was really amazing, I couldn’t believe we were actually there ad staying at such a nice hotel. Check in was a breeze our room was ready, we got our tickets and components to the silver package and went up to check out our room. We were on the 6th fl room 6016. We walk in, and immediately go to the balcony and what do you know, we have a view of the Castle!!! Next we decide to go to Magic Kingdom, lucky us the bus was right there when we walked up. We hit most of the rides ate at Pecos Bills the condiment bar was a hit with DH, the mushrooms were great! Came back to WL to get ready for our PS at O’hana. O’hana was so good, both my husband and I were impressed we left there and went back to Magic Kingdom to ride Haunted Mansion. I just love comparing Disneyland rides to Disney Worlds. Go back to WL and watch the fireworks from out balcony. We had never seen such intricate fireworks, the star one was really cool.

4/17 Up early to get to Epcot, we arrived just prior to opening so we got to see all the opening festivities. Mission Space was our first stop. I had been quite apprehensive about going on this and all the warnings didn’t make me feel much better. However it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, after the ride we both had so much adrenaline running through our system, took a good half hour to finally calm down. Then we rode Test Track, another very cool ride then to Spaceship Earth a nice and mellow ride. We actually think they revamped this since the last time we were there, but it could be our imagination. Next we were off to WS, some of the stores weren’t open yet so we wandered around and got really hungry so we stopped and got some food at Tangierene Café in Morocco. Very good food. DH got some beers from different countries I got a Mimosa. Around 2 we head back to WL. Now I had heard about the towel animals people get but knew that we would be lucky if we got 1, but when we walked in the room there was MICKEY! Livis the mousekeeper took my pajama bottoms and stuffed them with towels then took my DH shirt and stuffed it and then create a mickey head with the towels! I was jumping up and down when I saw it. And Livis didn’t disappoint us the whole time we were there, everyday we would come back to 1 or 2 towel creatures. Had some cocktails in the room (Note to self, next time make a grocery stop and buy alcohol. WL charged over $9.00 for a 6 pack of beer and $14.50 for a small bottle of vodka! Insane, but we do love our drinks!) We head over to AKL for our PS at Boma, we thought the food was good, but we liked O’hana better.

4/18- Today is Animal Kingdom day, last time we didn’t make it to AK so we were really looking forward to it. We had a blast, the safari was great, the dinosaur ride was great, seeing all the animals and walking through the trails was cool. Lunch at Rainforest Café was ok. That night we ventured to DTD and had drinks and appetizers at Planet Hollywood. OH on the way to DTD we had a crazy bus driver, he was yelling at the pedestrians and we could have sworn we heard him say he was lost, he was definitely not in the Disney spirit. After a few drinks we made our way back to WL.

4/19- MGM Studios- Woke up early as usual (I thought on vacation we could sleep in?). Went on TOT first, this ride is so much better than the one in California, so fun. RnR always is a blast too. The Great Movie Ride is one of our favorites as well. Anyways, I’m sure you get the hint we love all the attractions! Had lunch at Back lot Express, and once again I was pretty impressed with the grilled veggie sandwich I ordered although it took forever to get our food. That evening we had PS at Artist Point or Artist Puke as DH would say. Not saying that the food was bad, but we both felt very ill after eating there. I had the bibb lettuce salad, salmon and cobbler for dessert. DH had mussels, Buffalo and some chocolate dessert. I don’t think we will eat there again.

4/20- Typhoon Lagoon, perfect day to go we got there early and found chairs right away walked on to all the waterslides, no waiting at all it was great. That evening we had tickets to go see Cirque Du Soleil at the 6:00 performance. Before that we had appetizers and drinks at the House of Blues. The show was spectacular. After that we went to Fulton’s for our 8:30 PS. I must say the food at Fulton’s was really really good, I had the Alaskan King Crab Claws and DH had Filet Mignon with Grilled Shrimp. It melted in our mouths, so good. The service was lacking but that was ok because the food was good. We normally wouldn’t be eating so extravagantly but with the silver package we basically used our ‘wishes’ for all our dinners and I made sure we ordered expensive items so we would get our money’s worth!

4/21- Is it Thursday already? Today we decided to go to Epcot again to ride Mission Space and then do the Leave a Legacy thing. After that we were going to go to MGM again, but DH kept saying ‘Pecos Bill’ I guess he really likes those mushrooms. So we went back to Magic Kingdom which was a really good idea, because we got onto Peter Pan with only a 15 minute wait, and Snow White we basically walked right on. Ate at Pecos Bills, did a lot of other rides. That night we ate at Citricos. The food was good, better than Artist Point. I had sautéed shrimp for an appetizer, seared tuna and some fruity thing for dessert. DH had plat du jour (meat and cheeses), the veal shank (extremely tender but he insisted it tasted like his grandma’s stew) and Tiramisu for dessert.
4/22- Yikes it’s Friday! Today was a special day as we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was really fun and our CM Rae was super informative and very nice. Any Disney fanatic should do this tour. I learned a lot of interesting tidbits. For dinner we ate at Narcoossees an excellent choice for our last dinner in WDW. I had crab cakes, the surf n turf and fruit cobbler for dessert. DH had mussels, wahoo and some chocolate thing called Everest for dessert. It was all delicious.

4/23- Check out day Our flight didn’t leave until 7:20 and the town car wasn’t going to be picking us up until 5:15 so we dropped our luggage off at the valet and took a bus to MGM. We did TOT again and the backlot tour and the Great Movie Ride. Had lunch at Mama Melrose. It didn’t rain all week until this day, after lunch we went out and it had started raining so we ducked into Muppets 3-D. After this we headed back to WL so I could get my last Lodge Fizz. Got our luggage and the Town car came to take us away.

That’s the end of our vacation. All in all with the wishes we did come out ahead so that was good. I am mad they stopped offering this package next time I will just have to go for the MYW plan. Vacation blues have set in and I am already planning on going in Sept 2006. DH thinks I am crazy to start thinking about another vacation when we JUST got back, but hey I need something to look forward too.

Thanks for the trip report and welcome back. I was there with my DW and DD April 9-19, offsite first night, then BWV's the next 5 days, then WL the next 4 days. Like you, already planning that next vacation. Thankfully it will be in January at BWV's. Well, at least there's the DLR to tie us over until then.

Thanks again for the trip report.

Loved your trip report. It sounds like you both had a wonderful time. :flower:

Thank you for the tirp report. Sounds like you had a great time. We are going in November, and I can hardly wait to get there! :)

Terrific report! Thank you for sharing! It reminded of the week that my Boyfriend (now DH of 13 yrs) and I spent in WDW in 1990. It was fun to come and go as you please..... no waiting in line for character autographs! :rotfl2:

Same dates we were there! Great report. I'm trying to get our trip report around too. We were a group of 4 adults (me, DH & his parents). We didn't do either water park, but I wish we had. We went to the themeparks every day but one, almost all were full days there. Next time, maybe we can try to relax a little more - it sounds like you did. I told my DH I think I would have a better time just the 2 of us. Pretty good after celebrating our 28th anniversary (WOW!) on Apr. 22nd, huh? :flower3:

Great report - I read it with a big smile - sounds like you had a really nice trip :Pinkbounc Don't see that you did any EMH?????

We were thinking about it but never managed to get around to it. I think after dinner we always just wanted to go back to WL and relax. We probably should have taken advantage of the EMH, maybe next time.
