:wave2: Hey Laurie! Some time to relax just a smidge will be a good thing I hope. Not that you can ever really relax but I think you know what I mean. But I can get where the "boredom" would come into play. I wish I had lans to keep me busy this week - and off my laptop. My wrists and elbows are getting too sore from how much time I've been spending on the DIS again. If there was one benefit from my break a while back it was that my poor arms weren't killing me all day and night long. I just hate staying away.

I love that your worked out so perfectly Paula. I just died when I saw that image and knew I had to use it.

How are you sitting when you are on your laptop? I have never had issues with my arms or wrists...

I sit in a recliner type chair with the back reclined some with the laptop on my lap...

If you ever see another Pooh with a butterfly I will take a new sig but otherwise mine makes me smile!

I sit roughly the same way Paula. Part of my problem is I have poor circulation in my wrists to begin with which exacerbate the carpal tunnel problems I've been having for years. Add that to literally how many hours I spend a day typing and working on my laptop with editing photos and whatnot and then my job and it's a bad situation all around. It's not as bad as it was a few years ago when I went in for my nerve conduction study thing-a-majig but it's still a problem.

Well thanks you two, lol. I'm just super, super, super picky when it comes to my own. It's funny but I tend to love some of the ones I make for others more than mine. Sometimes it has to do with my name though. Some texts look better with different combinations of letters. Like yours Jillian. I adore your name in the font that I used for yours this time and it works well with Paula's too. I just don't like it with mine. I think it's the L's.

I LOVE my Ariel sig! :goodvibes I have always thought Paula's was super cute too! I usually hate how my name looks in stuff. I think it's the "illi" part in the middle, too many straight lines or something. But I do love it in the font you used. :thumbsup2

Morning everyone......pretty dead week coming....no appts or real plans. It's kinda good, but I get bored easily.....lol Sure wish our check would come in so we'd have some spending money.......shopping always picks me up!!! :rotfl:
Shopping is a great pick-me-up for me as well! Then you realize that you spent too much money that you need another pick-me-up. And the cycle continues...I think they did that on purpose! :rotfl:

Haha, the straight lines. I wish my name had more of them. The double-S tends to bother me to be honest. Maybe I'll do one that says Belle Ella ;)

Well that is just plain sucky! I take a lot of breaks when I am online. I also use the computer at work a lot since we went to online charting. Since we went to online charting a lot of people have had carpal tunnel or tendonitis issues. If i feel my wrists even start to twinge I adjust the height and the angle of the keyboard. I have enough pain elsewhere I don't need it in my arms and wrists if I can help it.

Ariel is cute... You haven't ridden the ride yet right?

Shopping is depressing to me. 1) because I can never find anything that fits! I had lost weight at the beginning of this year and then proceeded to put it all back on... I am really not likely most of my photopass photos... 2) I don't really have the money for shopping so I always feel guilty. 3) I'd rather spend the money on trips than things...

It would probably be more sensible if I used a desktop more often or something where I could get special keyboards/mouse but I hate using PC's lately. Maybe I should try clearigng out my desk and using my laptop there. At least the height is perfect and would have room for my mouse. I think it's the trackpad that usually does me in, but I can't find a comforable way to use my mouse when I'm on the couch or in the recliner or something.

I do have a splint/brace that I try to use when I sleep if I can find a comforable way to lay but when you're in a lot of pain in your arms by nighttime it doesn't really hep so I'llw ear it during the da depending on what I'm doing. The Neurologist I saw way back when gave me some other tips that I try to follow but I wont lie, sometimes I plain old forget and I don't take breaks nearly as much as I should.

It just really really sucks beacuse I don't want to have to get surger for it someday but I'm certaily not doing myself any favors.

Trying a desk may help... I like to be on the laptop and watching TV at the same time so a desk doesn't work very well for that lol!

When I was doing my nursing program I had BAD knee pain. I finally realized it was from sitting with my knees crossed as I read all my textbooks. I had to start using a pillow under my knees to keep me from crossing them and it helped immensely!!

I usually am watching TV or something as well which wont happen if I try the desk but I need to do something. And shh, I sit cross-legged all the time. It's the only comfortable way for me to sit to be honest, probably because I've been doing it for so long. That'll be biting me in the rear someday too I suppose. Phooey.

The knee pain for sitting crosslegged for me I think is more because of my weight and the pressure on my joints!

No Ariel ride for me yet! I have been trying my best to not look at any photos, or read too many reviews on it. I want to experience it for myself. I had to stop visiting the photo of the day thread after I accidentally saw a few pictures from the ride! :scared1: I am usually very bad at waiting, but I am doing a pretty good job this time.
I think all of us girls have trouble finding stuff that fits right....I have the worst time finding jeans. Since I am so short, that is one issue, but then I have problems with the waist being too big and the leg width being too small or vise versa. I usually always have to take them in to get altered.
I don't really go out and do "fun" stuff very often, and that is they money I save up for my trips. :) While some of my friends are out spending $8+ for one drink at a bar, I am happily saving my money to spend in DLR :thumbsup2

My hubby is one that likes to spend the money out with friends at the bar and I just say I prefer DL lol.

Coming up in the few days (I think!) I will be posting on the Little Mermaid on my TR. I will be sure and put in the title and the first line that it is a post about TLM so you will know to skip that post!

I want to stop sitting cross-legged. I'm sure it does nothing to help my circulation which is already bad enough. It's just the way my legs want to go when I sit down, lol.

Yup mine too! Try putting a throw pillow or something under your knees. It still props them up but takes some of the pressure off... At least for me!

Hey there!

I am loving how busy this thread is again! Good to see!

Jessica I love all your sigs. You seem to be able to find the right font for anyone's name. And the character pictures you find are so cute. :goodvibes

Not sure if anyone here is really a fan of rock music, but if you are, I really recommend Seether's new album 'Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray". It's so good. I've been listening to it pretty much non-stop since it came out 2 months ago. They are similar to bands like Nickelback and Shinedown. His voice is a little rough at times, kinda like Kurt Cobain. Love them though! :)

Thanks Andrea!! The font can be the hardest to placemost of the time, lol. But I have my favorites I tend to stick to.

With the exception of a few, I've mostly stuck with the "Disney" font so far, just to keep the theme going. And I get bored of the standard fonts that Windows has. I need to go hunting for fonts one of these days.
