A very British wedding and a very DISneymoon

Hi everyone, I'm really late to this pj business, my fiancé and I get married on March 31st 2012 in England and then a few weeks later we are headed to WDW for our disneymoon along with a cruise on the Disney Dream. Although it's not a Disney wedding I was hoping you girls (and some guys) would be interested in the things we've planned and it'll be lovely to have a record of everything we've done.

I'm Laura and DF is Tom

The picture is of us waiting for our flight to Florida in Oct 2010. My Dad was running the New York Marathon so Tom and I decided to fly out early and have five days in WDW. We had an amazing time and stayed at Old Key West on DDP before flying up to NYC. The best bit was that I came back with something very sparkly!

We ate dinner at San Angel Inn and had just about the worst meal of our holiday! Tom had been really nervous all day, asking me what I was wearing for dinner and panicking about timings etc, I wondered what was the matter with him. He was desperate to get to Illuminations which was very unlike him. We made it outside in time and as the fireworks started he asked me if I would marry him! I was gobsmacked, I had hoped; but really didn't expect, that he would propose while we were away and it was a real shock. We went on TestTrack straight after and I can't remember anything about it other than thinking 'OMG I'm getting married'.

We headed to New York two days later and as we got on our flight Tom said we needed to go ring shopping when we got there. I have always dreamed of a Tiffany wedding ring and so that was one of the first places we went to. I had the best time looking at those rings and after a glass of champagne to celebrate we chose this ring

Since we got engaged we've had a new addition to our little family, Wilf, our Tibetan Terrier

Thanks Fay going to do another little update now about venue etc. I wasn't going to put my dress on here until after the wedding in case anyone finds this. I can PM you details though

Ever since I was little I have always known that I wanted to get married in the same church as my parents got married in, because we don't live where the church is we had to get special permission but it was granted and on 31st March at 12pm Tom and I will tie the knot here

We will then head to the Lake District for the wedding reception. After looking at loads of venues, we both decided we loved The Merewood. We've taken over the whole place and we are hoping it'll a be a relaxed, house party feel. I saw it decorated for Christmas and I really wanted a winter wedding but couldn't risk the possibility of snow stopping people from getting there.

And the view over Lake Windermere from the hotel. I'm really hoping the weather will be good on our wedding day so we can take advantage of the views, but if not we will have pics infront of the log fires inside the house

When we got back from NYC we quickly sent out Save the dates to everyone and we tried to theme them with the story of our engagement

We are going to have around 80 guests to the day party and then another 30 at nighttime

So after the wedding we are heading straight back to work on the Monday which I think will be a little bit weird. Tom doesn't get much holiday with his job so we are waiting a few weeks and then flying out to Florida. The plans are;

16th May fly out to Orlando and catch the Magic Express to AKL where we have a Savannah room booked for the night before...

17th May head to Port Canaveral for a 3 night cuise on the Disney Dream and then...

Heading back to Orlando for 15 nights at Old Key West on DxDDP, we are going to roll home on June 4th!!

We made all our ADRs at the 180 day mark and we have booked lots of breakfasts and signature dinners, we can just use snack credits if we are hungry during the day.

We have booked two cars, both DF's choice (as he's a bit of a petrol head), a Camaro and a Mustang Convertible

While we are there we plan to shop lots, visit other parks including Universal and Busch Gardens and we have booked Discovery Cove with the dolphin swim and SeaVenture. I'm hoping to book some surprises for Tom along the way too so if any has any ideas what I can do please let me know.

Your venue is so amazing! The church is really pretty too! It would have looked brilliant in the snow, but I understand - you would have had no guests! lol
