A Vacation From My Problems (A Sept. 2010 Trip Report) - COMPLETED 12/14

Well...we're using the word "classic" very loosely here, but knowledge of obscure Sylvester Stallone arm-wrestling movies deserves a point.

+1 :thumbsup2

Oh - in the 80's I was very "in" to the thespian that is Mr. Stallone. I remember extreme debates in my French II class regarding whether or not John Rambo was crazy or just pushed too far in First Blood. (I don't remember any French from that class, except one slightly naughty phrase:rolleyes1 - but I do remember Rambo debates :thumbsup2)

I love the pictures of your kids playing in the water. I could sit and watch the jumping water all morning if they'd let me!

As for depositing your child in the seat by the "scruff of the neck"...heck - that's what it's there for - a handle for otherwise un-cooperative children. :confused3 I know I used the ones my boys came with a time or two....:rolleyes1

That sounds like the most excellent French II class ever! And I would go with the "pushed too far" camp. I mean, Brian Dennehy was a real jerk in that movie.

Thanks for the compliments on the the pictures and backing up our kind, sensitive parenting! :rotfl:

Yeah, you don't get on 6'3" ex-marine's bad sides.

Sweet! Sorry for derailing, I was just stating fact. My kids belong to the Young Marines program here in Raleigh so our lives are full of marines, active duty, reserve, and retired. Heck, I just got my clearance so I could become a registered adult helper. That only took 3 months. Anyway, carry on.

if i recall as a young lad, i herd "good to go" alot. and a few others i cant post here on a family board.:lmao: i remember when i was 15, he wanted to take me around washington dc. he took me to see the silent drill team. we first met his boss, all i remember is he lived next to the field were they do the silent drill team and marine corp. drum and bugel show. my aunt was his boss' secretary. when we got out of the car, there were 4 marines that opened all the doors to the car and escorted my mom into the building. my mom didnt go anywere without an escort. you know when your 15, you dont real grasp what is important alot of the time. but, i do remember alot from that night and i will never forget it, it was great!!! if you ever get a chance to see them in washington, go!!!
