never, ever try bathing one on your bathtub!
We recently adopted Bernice. She is 3 yrs old and has a lot of fears due to abuse by her original owners. But we've had her since the end of May and she has done quite well.
This morning we noticed that she has a lot of 'hot spots' she's been chewing at. Upon closer inspection we discovered FLEAS!!!!!!!!!! ARGH! I thought we had gotten done with that !
So since we have two other dogs we figured we will just give them all baths with this flea shampoo that has worked very well in the past. The initial idea was to do it outside. Well it started raining so we figured what the heck we'll do it inside.
No, bad idea!
The boxer did fine, she loves baths.
The cocker was a little feisty, peed on herself (typical) but got done fairly quickly.
Bernice..oh my LORD, between DH and I it took a lot of manuevering just to get her in the BATHROOM. Then into the tub. Then she hated the water, she hated the soap and did her best to get out. At one point DH had to come in and stand behind me to catch her if she tried to bolt again.
But finally we got her done and now we are both soaked, in bathwater and sweat!
She is now sound asleep snoring in our room. But she is flea free and the shampoo kills any eggs as well.
This was a precursor to us having to give our 3 DSs baths tonight...
I don't need to workout tonight! I just finished wrestling a 92 lb wet dog!!
