A twist on the college alma mater question

What is your college alma mater famous for?Or who famous graduated or attended there?
My nursing school is the oldest Catholic based school in the US for RN's.

We have the best journalism school in the country (University of Missouri-Columbia). And oh yeah, I was a journalism major.

We have TONS of famous J-school grads, many working in network television now, too many to mention. Brad Pitt and Sheryl Crow also went to MU.

CMSU is known as the Teacher's school in Missouri. In fact that is one of only 2 degrees you could get, way back when it opened.

We are a drinking town with a football problem.


Actually we have a very well known and respected Medical school (espescially in regards to cancer and heart research.)

Our college of business is also top notch.

Our engineering school has many feats (constantly placing in solar car competition, and most recently we have used a plastic to greatly increase the processing power and storage of computers (7.0+ Ghz) and 100Terabit Drives))

Of course we have many well known football players (again that football problem)

That and if you go to Ohio State, you have a good chance landing a job because there is probably greater that 45% chance that someone high up in the company or division went to Ohio State.

It was during my sophomore year at Marshall University, in 1970, that the plane carrying the football team and many prominent supporters crashed and burned just a few miles short of the runway. There were no survivors. It was a horrible time that I will never forget .

The University of Georgia is known as the "Classic University" because it is the oldest public university in the country (got it's charter after UNC, but started teaching classes first), and it's in Athens, GA.

we are known for our law school and our med school. our international affairs program is also one of the top in the country.

one of our famous alums is Jackie Kennedy.
