They have a cool thread running on the Disneyland thread for outrageous experiences. I thought I would share with the "family"
OK....We had a traumatizing experience at Animal Kingdom....My 5 year old son was standing in line for Lilo and Stitch autograph. Well, they decide to play Monkey in the Middle with his autograph book. Now, my son in very polite and timid. He is saying...DO you have something you want to share? Can I please have my book etc. After 3-4 minutes of this....Way to long if you ask me....Lilo turns around (I can only see her back), bends down and seems to say something to my son. The next think I hear is the sound of my sons hand smashing on the plastic of Lilo's face. OH God...I was horrified. Now, we do not spank, hit and too be honest barely yell...So...He is so grounded. Our vacation is ruined...my life as I know it is officially over. So, I tell me son to apoligize. Lilo refuses to accept his apology, she is flinging her plastic head over her shoulder. Well, I don't know what to do, it is a total tragedy. My son is crying, my husband is laughing saying that she deserved it and now I need to fight with him over what he is teaching his son.
Now, let me say when this happens, the extremley long line is hysterical. So, this man comes running over ot me...I think he thought I was a child abuser or something. It turns out, Lilo put her finger on her cheek (kiss). My son thought she wanted to be smacked. Could you imagine?? Now, I am chuckling as I play this out in my head, at the time I was mortified. When I asked Quentin why he hit her, he said "I was only trying to make her happy"!!
So, after long debate, I write Disney an Email explaining what happened. I also explained the what if this man did not say anything and I beat my kid (which I wouldn't, however, many would). A few days later they call me and want me to sign a release form so they can use my memo in their training department. The lady agreed that sometimes they need to come out of character!!
So, now he is 7. Last month we went to WDW and he says to me...Mom keep her out of my face
