How many individual panels make up the exterior shell of Spaceship Earth in EPCOT?

I just want you all to know that there wouldn't even be an Epcot ball if I hadn't taken my life in my hands during Hurricane Charly, and duct taped it down.....and trust me it wasn't easy..:wave:

A little "thank you" would be appreciated...
::yes::

as a big fan of "the big golf ball" I will be the first to say

:worship: THANK YOU DONNA

You saved an icon, you should be proud.

I will ask Ed to design a pin for this occasion

You are welcome...and I think a pin would be wonderful....in fact they should have one with Mickey fighting off Charly...that would be sooo cool......I think I will get Mr. raulandpinboy working on it....:hyper:

hey, i'm surprised Ed didn't just hold the ball up on his shoulders like Atlas! Once again, the female saves the day. GO DONNA!!

Here is another trivia question, but I don't know the answer, we got talking about this at dinner tonight. We were talking about the Crystal Palace in the pre-character meal days and began to wonder:

What restaurant at WDW had the first character meal?

We used to enjoy getting to the MK early and having breakfast buffet at the Crystal Palace. We'd get there early, get our food, grab a window seat and watch the crowds build up until the rope drop.

Not sure where or when the very first character breakast took place. It may have been at the Village Restaurant, and was part of a special perk for Eastern Airlines package guests. I know that in 1978, The Terrace Cafe in the Contemp offered a character breakfast every Sunday from 8:00 - 10:30. There were also characters at the Fort Wilderness campfire each night back then.

By 1982, they extended the hours at the Terrace to 8:00-11:00, and there was also a 9:00 daily character breakfast on the Empress Lilly riverboat at Walt Disney World Village. The Village Restaurant also had character breakfasts at 9:00 am. At the Poly, you could attend Minnie's Menehune Character Breakfast at 8:00 or 9:30 am. Price? ...$5.00 adults, 4.00 children. We still have our souvenir attendance certificates from that one! Sorry, I don't know how to post a pic of it here...

Also in 1982, the Golf Resort tried a new "Dinner a la Disney" in the Trophy Room at 5:00 pm. Adults... $12.00, children (12-18) ... $10.00. At those prices, no wonder character meals didn't catch on more quickly, huh?
