Thanks BR. I was just thinking how the "makeup" of our astronauts have changed as time has progressed. In the begininning with the Mercury programs it was only "test pilots"
I believe the pictures of the Challanger and Columbia crews really reflect that, our crews are now of both genders, many races, scientists, teachers, even from different countries. A good thing I feel becouse this is what America is. What is often forgotten is we become complacent that these missions are routine, and they are indeed never that way These folks are heroes, they knew and accepted the risks, for thier countries, teaching, science and exploration.

Ramon was one of my personal heroes. the son of an Aushwitz survivor, a hero of the Israeli air force, and someone who proclaimed her flew as a representative of the Jewish people and brought kosher food and symbols of our faith into space.
