A Tribute to Our Troops - Open Sunday July 23, 2006

I have built a series of rooms (basically 5 total) and set them up as a tribute to all our soldiers who can't be home with their families this holiday season (the starting room is The First Soliders Home.) I will try to be in my room for the majority of the day to keep it open, so if anyone would like to come by and check them out, please feel free to do so. To get the story, just click on the information button in each of the rooms, they should tell what each of the rooms symbolize.

And if anyone would like to make any suggestions for changes or additions or just general comments about the rooms, I am always open to listening.

Thanks to everyone who already made an appearance when I had completed it yesterday. But I spent most of the day working on credits to get the rooms like I wanted to have them before actually opening them up and passed out.

And also, thanks to Coriander for providing a good number of the green crates for me in the 1 room. Without your help, the rooms might not have been open as quickly. Thanks.

Very few physical things move me emotionally anymore, but your rooms brought me to tears. As a former Army person who was in Vietnam, it is nice to see tributes for those who are still doing the fighting for us. The candles I gave you are for those who have gone on to a better place, for the hope that ALL of the rest will make it home safe, and for the families that can not be together during this holiday season.

I think this should be like a higher honnored room than best guets room. It should be like in BLUE. BLUE for amazing room that shows the true holiday spirt. You know better than that, I won't yell or say anything at all about you not going through the other rooms. It's ok that you didn't. I don't mind in the least. And I plan on leaving the rooms the way they are for as long as VMK will allow them there. The story will hold true... for those that haven't been in the rooms yet, I don't want to post the part of the story I am talking about in case you may want to come through still, but for those who have, I am referring to the 2nd room information.

On several of my trips through the rooms to get to the last "Final Memories" Room to place a candle or 2, I have encountered many people come up to me and ask to please leave the rooms there forever. And from day 1, that was my plan. Because no matter what (unfortunately), there will always be someone out there who can't come home for 1 reason or another.

I have finally finished working on these rooms (I think... yeah go on ahead and say it berrygirl and Disva, I know it's coming)... so for those who have taken the tour thanks, but if u decide to stroll back through again it won't be the same.. lol.

A new room has now been added to the story to put the people taking the tour into the life of a soldier on tour of duty in the desert. Next room coming, will be a tour in the jungle.

Oh my goodness, I will definitely have to look for your rooms. As a wife of an Army soldier who is currently deployed; you don't know how much these types of things mean to us. Thank you for your time and effort you put into those rooms, I will try to view them when I log on.

It's so nice that he has made these rooms as a tribute to the wonderful men and women that are serving, have served, or have paid the ultimate price for our country and our freedoms.

I want to give this a little bump for the day time folks and second Coriander's comments that the rooms are great and you can really tell Alien has put a lot of thought into them! If you get a chance, everybody should go through them at least once.

Ok... the last and final room (until the frozen tundra tour gets added when that room comes out... lol) is now in the story/museum. It is linked in between the last home of a soldier and (the other new room added just 2 days ago) the Desert Tour. This final room is the Jungle Tour that some soldiers are sent on and places everyone that comes in deep into the jungles. Thanks to those that helped get me a few things to finish up the jungle canopy and also to the person that got the Jungle theme room itself (you know who u are and I really appreciate it.) Also, thanks to everyone that came through the jungle to make sure that all the paths worked out right and that everyone could go from 1 side of the room to the other.
