We just got back from a 5 day/ 4 night stay! So nice to get away even if we were working while there! As many of you know this is our first camper and this was our first "real trip". We left Ft.Myers and got up there by 3:30. We only had one camper ahead of us so check in was a breeze! I got my gimp golf cart and we were on our way! Our site was 432 roadside. Yes, the busses were loud as were the kids on the golf carts. I won't complain because A. I'm not home and 2. They were kids having fun and they could be doing a lot worse than balsting the same song over and over and over while they looped over and over and over. By the way this was a premium pet loop but I could not tell you if it was an improvement since this was out first trip. We were the SMALLEST thing in there- the Prevost people were all around us and they were pulling utilitiy trailer bigger than us! It was quite comicial if I say so myself!
So, Friday we set up without incident and just relaxed a bit. We were tired so we did Trail's End to go. DH had wings (blech) and I had the all white meat dinner (yummy) we went to bed early.
Saturday, we woke up and I made breakfast outside. On the menu: Fresh ground coffee, OJ, sausage patties, eggs and toast. We cleaned up and took a nap. After out nap we went looping in "The cart that could not get out of it's own way". We saw these mesh rooms and decided we needed one. So, off to Wally world. When we were in the car, DD made an amusing comment. She pretended she was on an intercom "Attention all cast members we have a code red situation, we have guests leaving the bubble repeat we have guests leaving the bubble. Be prepared to stop them if you see them. This is serious they are going to spend money outside of the bubble!" Maybe it was funnier if you were there, but you get the idea. So, we get to the zoo, er I mean wally world and it is crazy of course. We went over to the camping section and asked about these screen rooms. Just as we are about to take it some ill mannered gentleman grabbed and and says "Looks like that is the last one" :headache: So we ask if they possibly have any more anymore. They came back and said no, but if you are willing to take a Florida Gators one you can have in for half price! We are now officially Gators fans by way of wally world:cheer2:
So we get back set it up and realize that the square footage of the "Gator Dome" is greater than our camper! Too funny. We were ready for lunch and I made grilled pastrami sammies with italian pasta salad. After lunch we napped. We woke up and looped a bit. I looked for lime green mickey signs, but nothin! Went by the pool and new loop. This may be posted, but it is all camper sites no cabins. I also saw parts of a waterslide. We went back watched TV and chilled. For dinner I made a Valentine's day dinner of steak, loaded mashed taters and salad. Oh, and wine for me, rootbeer for Gabriella and beer for Alan. We just chilled after that. At 3:30 in the Am DH wakes me up and asks if I turned off the A/C I told him no. That is when it happened--- our first malfunction! We checked everthing and I called had Disney check out elect which was fine. In the AM (Sun no less) we called Frank's RV repair and he came out and fixed the shoreline box. It was not installed correctly. BTW Frank was professional, and quick I would recommend. Before he got there I was grinding the coffee and brewing right from the elec stump! So, when he left I made brunch. I made steak and eggs. We napped. At dinner we were grouch from broken sleep and I was hungry so I made dinner. It was pancetta and onions sattueed and chix tenders cooked in the fat then I melted colby jack cheese on top and served with yellow rice and black beans. It is now called something chicken and DH loved it! Gabriella had a feta cheese salad. We went to watch fireworks and came back and chilled. It rained and that was great! Very relaxing.
On Monday I got up made coffee and breakfast. I cooked bacon and onions and then cooked shredded potatoes in the fat. Melted cheese on top toasted bagels and there you have it. Same routine, nap and loop. For lunch we went to Giradelli's and had ice cream. THAT was the moment I was waiting for. I had the menu at home and would show it to DH every night! Guess what we did after we got back? If you guessed nap you would be correct. Dinner was ham steak sammies and chips. I can't tell you haw many times I dumped grey water from the dishes I washed! For those of you who know me, I NEVER cook at home. With our crazy schedules it never works out right. So, when we got the camper I said that we would eat well. And sleep well. Tue am I made pancakes bacon and eggs and we hooked up and came home. No, we never went to any parks, and that was just fine by me. We had a great time and relaxed as well as worked. I left all of the work out of the TR but we did everyday. I will post pics later but I have to call Coachman to see if they will pay for the repair. Thanks for reading!

How cool! Your very first trip out! Sounds like a great long weekened that probably would have been too much if you'd gone to the parks too. Napping and eating well sounds like a vacation to me! :lmao:

BTW, I chuckled about your DD and the bubble comment. My DH says stuff like that all the time!:rotfl:

Wai... wai... wait... slow down! ;) First, you said 400 is a pet loop. Is that official? Where did you hear it? If it's true, this is news.

Second, you ate at Trail's End (and lived, LOL)... how was it? Yes, I saw "yummy" but we need more! Good service? Was just the white meat yummy? How about the rest of the meal?

Third, no, the "bubble" thing was pretty hilarious from here too!

Fourth, half price? Go Gators!

Fifth, do you have Frank's contact info you could post?

Sixth, I love that everytime you mention cooking the words "cooked in the fat" comes up! Girl after my own heart!

Okay, that's enough for now... I need a nap. ;)

Napping, eating and looping...... throw in some fishing and a few mojito's and it sounds like the perfect vacation to me!!!

What can I say that hasn't already been said ? ;)

As far as the pet loop goes, they knew from the get go that we had dogs. Our neighbors to the right had dogs, as well as the three across from us. I don't know if it will always stay that way but I called and asked what my options were and it was 400, 500 and 700 if I wanted to be near the marina. HTH.

I promise I will post pics but I am trying to catch up on laundry and work.

Oh, and Trail's End... we just did the take out. The service was slow and it was not busy! However, the girl next to me was crying and the cast Member went and got her crayons to cheer her up. I thought that was nice. The meal as 2 pieces of Chix breast (moist and hot), coleslaw and a biscuit. I hate mayo but DH liked the coleslaw ok and the bread was nothing to write home about so I didn't ;)

I will post Frank's info as soon as I dig up his card. BTW he has a $75 service call fee and $100/hr. He worked quickly and throughly. He also had a sense of pride in his work and to me that is worth a lot. I bet I will never have trouble with that part again.

I did want to fish, but did not see cots to rest on! I saw a t shirt for Frank, it was grey and said "here fishy fishy"

I agree with Rog...that sounds like a perfect vacation! Thanks for the report.

Great job on the trip report!

Sorry that I didn't get a chance to meet you (or to stop by during meal time :) )

I should have taken some naps on my trip.

I am still tired.

Please pardon the interruption on your trip report, but I need to answer a question posed by Shan-man . . .

Wai... wai... wait... slow down! ;) First, you said 400 is a pet loop. Is that official? Where did you hear it? If it's true, this is news.

Shan-man-

I posted this photo in January:

That is a poop bag dispenser on the 400 loop.

Interestingly enough, there are none installed on the 1200 and 1300 loops, although those were originally reported to become pet loops.

For now, the 400 loop seems to be a pet loop.

Unless those poop bags are there for something else. :confused3

Excellent TR - thanks!

PRICELESS :rotfl:

Napping, eating and looping...... throw in some fishing and a few mojito's and it sounds like the perfect vacation to me!!!

Sounds like a great trip, eating, looping and napping. What more could you ask for? :)

Thanks for the trip report!
I also liked the comments "cooked in the fat"- yep. hehe

Also noticed this:
I also saw parts of a waterslide
ooh ooh ooh
How exciting!!!!

Great trip report! We had a camper malfunction on one of our first trips...can't remember which one, but one of our alarms kept going off during the night...was it the C02? or something else I can't recall now, but thankfully occured right at the end of the trip so we stopped by the dealership for repair on the way home. Oh my, was that ever disturbing. I didn't get a lick of sleep after it started at about 1:30 AM. The alarms certainly do live up to their name.
I like the ideas of naps & those meals sound fantastic over your trip. Geesh, my brood is lucky to get hot dogs, macaroni or something easily microwaved. I can't let hubby read your report. :)

Lemme know the next time you're at FtW. I'm coming over just to eat!!!

Gatordad will be proud of your Wally-World acquisition!! Half price, no less!

AuburnJen92 will not be proud of your purchase.

However, at GG's, Tigers & Gators nest side by side in perfect peace and harmony. Oh, wait!!! At GG's, there is never any peace because this wonderfully crazy lady always arrives with a TON of Jello Shots!!! Where has she been?
