Beautiful thought, thank you!

I couldn't agree with you MORE, Buc. I've seen both the righteous AND the sinful afflicted with a host of terrible illnesses.

Of course, when GOD the omnipotent "takes" our beloved, innocent children, then he/she has a "plan" which is unfathomable to mere mortals:( :( :( :(

God's timetable may well not be the same as ours. What is asked is that we learn to believe without seeing and to trust when it seems we could do so much better.

Today, I pray for the faith to go the distance. Like a child leaping into a parent's arms, I know that l am too precious to drop.

This is so good Dan. Thank you.

JC2, I wanted to say that I enjoy your good thoughts you always share. Also I wanted to say how much I love your signature
Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is faithful.
That in itself is a great thought to hear every day :)

Thank you Elaine :)
I appreciate the encouragement and kindness that we can all share with each other.

Encouragement and kindness are good for the soul, both the receiver's, and the giver's.

A weed is but an unloved flower.
--Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Through actively loving one another we nurture the richness of
everyone's fuller expression. With no more than a nod of attention
we can elicit a smile or perhaps a commitment to attempt again a
challenge that defeated us earlier. None of us shines as brightly,
moves as swiftly, or succeeds as easily as when someone special is
rooting in our corner.

We each need someone special, and let's not forget that we are
someone special to another who is walking our path. The
loneliness of a day is diminished when we feel the love of someone
near or far. The dread of any task is lessened, when we bask in the
knowledge that we are special to someone. Like roses, we bloom
while under the gaze of loving eyes. Let's remember to nurture the
rose within the friends and strangers who are walking our way
today.

Very true Dan :)

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up."
- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Dan, that last thought you shared was beautiful... thank you :)

"Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion and empathy."
Dean Koontz

There are persons who have some parts like me, but no one adds

--Virginia Satir

Most of us feel pretty ordinary. We probably wish we were taller or shorter. Some of us are fat rather than thin. Few of us have perfect skin or teeth. Often we look at others, compare ourselves, and wish we were different. At these times, it's important to remember that each of us is special. We differ from others because we're created for different purposes.

Some of us will make a contribution to the world of sports, some to the art of music. Teaching or medicine will attract others and yet, no two of us will give to the world in the same way. Our unique mixture of looks, attitudes, and abilities will be special and very necessary to the people sharing our lifetime.

How can I give my special gift to the world today?

Thank you for that quote Dan... I really needed to hear that one :)

I have heard this one many times before but I always love to see and hear it:
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
-Leo Buscaglia

Hi, JC2! I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your always thoughtful and inspiring posts. It is people like you that keep me coming back to the DIS.

Marie, you are so kind. I really am glad you are a part of the DIS. :)

Happiness may well consist primarily of an attitude toward time.
— Robert Grudin

What we selectively choose to do and say from the array of thoughts and feelings flowing through us at any given time is defined by our attitude. We are learning now to what degree we can shape our attitude moment by moment. Accepting responsibility for this is a major step in our recovery.

This responsibility can feel like an awesome burden some days. No longer can we blame someone else or a stressful situation for our actions; we are no longer hapless victims of our environment. Our words and actions clearly reflect the attitude we bring to a situation.

We can be thrilled with this responsibility. We can make positive choices about how to express our feelings. Our goal is a consistent attitude of joy and gratitude that will foster blessings wherever we find ourselves.

I will be aware of the thoughts and feelings that shape my words and actions today, and strive to promote joy and gratitude.

In God's Care

This is so true. It is very easy to only be "happy" during easy times, but true joy will rise in us during hard times as well as good times. This, I believe, is because true joy is not based on circumstances.

Perfect! The difference between joy and happiness. :)
